DD was rejected at Sta. for a joint Honors program.
1500 SAT, 3.7 UW. He is in NYU, but really wanted to go to Scotland. Oh well. Good luck to those still waiting to hear from Sta.

What major if I may ask? It must have been a competitive program and year at St Andrews.

At our school it is considered an easy admit like 90% with about 15 kids applying last year and most years before that. Hi stats
And low stat all get in and it is considered a safety school option

Interesting. The acceptance rate for americans is about 30-35% on avg. Wonder how many of the kids from “Your school” are actually attending….otherwise at some point, they will stop admitting from schools where kids just don’t attend.

At our school, Elite private in the south, where typically 5 apply every year, we usually have a 2 acceptances per year and one attend.

It depends on what you mean by low stat. The entrance requirements have minimal stats.

My kid just got his offer for IR and Management. He is accepting it and turning down USC and W&M.

Would you mind sharing his stats?

What drove their decision to turn down W&M? They seem like very similar schools, albeit in very different settings.

My DC is facing the same decision at the moment (OOS W&M).

He originally wanted to apply to the joint W&M/St Andrews IR program. But the more he talked to others and researched it the more he realized the two yrs in each for IR wasnt going to be a good fit for him. But he also likes business management. So he applied to W&M business and St Andrews Joint Honors in IR and Mgmt. He also applied to USC’s WBB program and several other business or IR programs. He was not accepted to WBB, but got in Marshall. In the end, after not getting into WBB, he soured on USC.

St Andrews gives him the opportunity to Start with a Joint degree on IR and Mgmt and take a 3rd module in History too. He can then decide in yr two which one or two he wants to continue with. After visiting St Andrews during SPring Break, he fell in love with the place.
