I suggest you attach a note with your next financial aid donation outlining the specific ways you expect families to grovel for your money.

It’s easier not to donate. Affluent African American families can go to good public schools.

No, affluent African American families will send their children to whichever schools they choose (including elite private schools).

You will continue to seethe and wallow in your racism. Next caller.

Sure ! But I will not donate for that 😀.

Wow. Your racist attitude is disgusting.

What is disgusting is race based financial aid.

Who cares, racist troll. I don’t care if you never donate a single cent. 😝

Sorry that these types of kids are in fact better than your kids. Bankers and big law kids are a dime a dozen. The school also wants the kids of scientists and journalists and people who have goals and priorities other than making every penny possible.

This is interesting! let's build on this. Can you elaborate why the Types of Kids produced by lightly UMC parents are better than the Types of Kids birthed by a lawyer? I'm mostly interested in the specific differences you see in your classmates.

MC and almost UMC kids are actually the dime a dozen population, and you'll find them in droves at the big public down the street from the $$ private.

do you think just because you have the money to full pay your kid is better than poorer kids? You are going to be in a world of hurt when college admissions come around.

Many African American private school families have more money than you. 🤣

Keep your pennies and continue to send your children to Flint Hill (former intentional segregation academy). No one cares about you or your mediocre children.

I think people like PP have literally never met an affluent or otherwise accomplished black families. I’ve been in that milieu for a long time via my job and relatives by marriage, and by just living in DC, and I forget that a lot of white people literally do not know any black UMC people.

See a relative lot of black families at my school. Mathematically, some of them must be on FA. Don't see any Hispanic families that I can think of. I think PP may have a point.

I'm pretty sure race is not a consideration for financial aid. Why is this thread shifting to race? Isn't financial aid based on income and net assets? If more people from one race receives aid because of that formula, so be it. But, that doesn't make the financial aid based on race...it's based on that family's financial picture. Why are people so obsessed with race? No race is more or less deserving of financial aid. Why do people care?

It’s shifting to race because the PP who started this line of posts is deeply aggrieved (for some people, the level of white aggrievance has no limit). Btw, that poster isn’t Hispanic. They’re using digital brown face.

I am very happy that affirmative action was eliminated from universities. African American students were taking advantage of the situation by reducing the opportunities to Asian and Hispanic students.

Objectively this is the law of the land, you like it or not. And I think the elimination of affirmative action should also happen at private schools.

I think private schools should eliminate having people like you there.

You sound incredibly bothered that black people exist. UMC Black families aren’t worried about financial aid or affirmative action. The fact that you are so concerned shows a lot of insecurity on your part. You should read your school’s annual report. Donors are named (unless they choose to donate anonymously) and most of the donations are small (under 5k). There’s a handful of big donors in any given year (20k+) and (gasp) some of them are Black.

Ask the supreme court court to do that. I think they were more concerned about affirmative action.

I am only bothered that when people talk about diversity they forget about Asians and Hispanics. Have you heard the term Hispanic lives matter or Asian lives matter ? Not really.
