I loved the documentary. I think it was fascinating, but part of the takeaway was that her great beauty + ruthlessness + demanding nature + work habits were the roots of her success: she got into Wall Street that way, didn't care about neglecting her family to launch her empire. She basically lacks all qualities that make a person admirable on a deep level, but superficially she is a really impressive success story. As for the trial, it was pretty crazy how her bff threw her under the bus on the stand. I looked it all up and apparently after the trial she said Martha possibly didn't even say those words, and she wrote a tell-all about their friendships. So if that's the best friend she had in the world...It's all very sad.

Telling the truth under oath isn't throwing someone under the bus

Erring on the side of "she probably said it so I'll say she did and ruin her life" when you aren't sure she actually said it is definitely throwing someone under the bus.

Absolutely. Do you all have even the faintest concept of "under oath" and "beyond a reasonable doubt"?

Beyond a reasonable doubt is a standard for the jury not for the witness. Her testimony was admissible, fool!

Forget about the last 30 to 40, let's just consider the last couple of years. The heavily photo shopped bathing suit cover of a magazine, the affair reveal and now thirsting for the new sexiest man alive? Why do older celebrities embarrass themselves trying to stay young, hip and relevant? I remember when the swim suit cover came out and that evening my husband said Martha Stewart is aging really well and then I showed him a photo of her without lighting, photo editing and that perfect angle, and he said OMG! I laughed because although she looks great for her age, it is exactly that, her age. Botox and fillers have got every single woman over 55 that I know thinking they can trick Mother Nature and look thirty, and you cannot. Face life, turn it back some, but the fillers and botox at some point just look ridiculous. I now have a friend who has the filler above her cheekbones and it pains me to watch her chew when we have lunch. It makes her happy so I say nothing, but come on, stop it.

I think there is substantial evidence, on a deeper dive, that through all eras of her life she did go that way. ( Like many CEO's can and do when they feel it is required). She had a lot of pride/hubris/arrogance in her early life and she ultimately paid for it both personally and professionally. She had to be the best and she had to win. Yes. But, boy---she got screwed with that court case/jail time. It was NOTHING compared to all the men that have done truly bad things. Christ---look at Trump and everyone involved in that administration. Look at true insider trading bigwigs. They really went after her--they couldn't even go for her on insider trading so they did a witch hunt. It would never have happened to anyone else. I'm not saying she likely wasn't guilty of taking that 'stock tip'..it just was such small peanuts compared to so many big wigs.

I was truly amazed by her endless energy and drive. Was she a pleasant person? Nah. I don't think she would have achieved such success if she was. It's who she was. She is highly intelligent and her manner and tone just cracks me up. Also, how she trivialized 'the Irishman' and the Duomo kiss---I was dying. I remember watching live when she did the Bieber roast and it was iconic. So Funny!!!

Maybe they should have prosecuted Trump for all his alleged crimes. Oh, they did. They were even making up crimes to charge him with because they couldn’t find actual crimes.
