You learned in law school that blocking roads is a first amendment right? ACLU: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS Protesters’ Rights The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets. Do I need a permit? You don’t need a permit to march in the streets or on sidewalks, as long as marchers don’t obstruct car or pedestrian traffic. If you don’t have a permit, police officers can ask you to move to the side of a street or sidewalk to let others pass or for safety reasons. Certain types of events may require permits. These include a march or parade that requires blocking traffic or street closure; a large rally requiring the use of sound amplifying devices; or a rally over a certain size at most parks or plazas. I’m attending a protest Your rights Your rights are strongest in what are known as “traditional public forums,” such as streets, sidewalks, and parks. You also likely have the right to speak out on other public property, like plazas in front of government buildings, as long as you are not blocking access to the government building or interfering with other purposes the property was designed for. Shouting and disrupting a State of the Union address is its own form of censorship. So by your own definition Nikoui is a fascist? |
Did Biden blow them up? Nope. Trump's buddies, the Taliban did that. |
He wasn’t shouting to stop Biden from speaking. Were the people screaming 4 more years censoring Biden? |
Yes he was. He was trying to interrupt Biden. |
Biden was interrupted constantly- but only one person arrested, the Gold Star Dad. |
And Trump went behind our allies backs and unilaterally set the terms for the US withdrawal - without consulting the Afghans or any of our other allies operating in Afghanistan. And then dismantled all of the infrastructure needed for withdrawal. Officials testified that "the cupboards were left bare." Frankly it's a miracle that a whole lot more American troops didn't get killed in the withdrawal with what a mess Trump forced on us. |
The other guests who disrupted the SOTU either ceased to do so or left when Capitol Police asked them to stop. Nikoui did not stop when they asked him to. That's why he got arrested and the others didn't. If you continue protesting after being asked by law enforcement to stop you get arrested. https://code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/council/code/sections/22-1307 |
They use words they don’t understand. It’s fascinating how upside they get the examples. |
Liar. “America’s safer today than when I took office,” Biden, 81, was in the middle of saying before he was interrupted from the chamber’s balcony. “Abbey Gate!” Steve Nikoui yelled down at the president. “Second Battalion, First Marines!” Capitol Police escorted Nikoui, 51, out of the chamber around 10:15 p.m. and took him into custody. He walked out himself. He didn’t continue to protest. The moderator is blocking video of the incident and arrest. Youtube-> Politico-> 24 second video clip. You will see the above poster is a liar with your own eyes. |
False. He continued to shout after being asked by officers to stop. "Tonight at approximately 10:15 p.m., a man disrupted the State of the Union Address by yelling," a Capitol Police spokesperson told Axios. "Our officers warned him to stop and when he did not, the man was removed from the House Galleries and was arrested." https://www.axios.com/2024/03/08/state-of-the-union-biden-speech-heckler-charged Also, he didn't stop on his own, nor did he leave on his own, he was escorted out by police and that can be seen in the video below. So now we see who's the liar here - it's YOU. |

Video on CBS website above. You will see the Gold Star father yell, and then turn to the Capitol police and walk out without the police even touching him. |
