I'll be sad when it's over but for now, I'll just let it play out. When it does happen I know it'll be rough cause of how long she's been with him, but still. The hopeless romantic teen love is adorable.

Barf. Do they use protection?

Why are some moms so caddy and immature. How much anger and low self esteem is in your life to react this way? It’s crazy to think these type of people are raising teens. Hope it’s a troll

The more you go thru the stronger you get. The firmer your boundaries will be and the less “play” you will tolerate from the opposite sex.

Hope your child is doing well OP!

Having an unrequited crush and going through break-up of a real relationships are completely different levels of experience. Yes, both are "sad", but so different.

OP: The past week has been rough. She did an amazing job holding it completely together at school . Lots of tears at home, no hw getting done, and unable to sleep. Crawled in bed with me many nights BUT she definitely turned a corner this weekend. Still sad but got caught up with work, went out with friends, etc.

I think she has accepted that things are over and that she did nothing wrong so now she needs to focus on herself

The turning the corner is the bright spot. Glad she is doing better!

Hugs to you. We went through this last summer - it helped so much that she didn’t have to see him at school. So hopefully he either doesn’t go to her school or it’s big enough for some space.

The first week was the worst - it got better fast after that.

Aww hugs to both of you. These type of things really do help teens grow up.

I’m shocked people who use the word “caddy” are raising teens. It’s “catty.”

Good news OP. First heartbreaks are usually the hardest but it really helps them for future relationships when they get more serious. And ignore all the opinionated unwanted posts. Having no social or dating experience before college is rare.
