Just how much effort did the Middletons make to ensure Kate married William?

You make it sound like there's some moral difference between Meghan and Kate, like it's a competition.

I've criticized Kate, but everything I have said about her also applies to Meghan Markle. They are functionally no different. Empty, vain narcissists who care about riches more than actual love.

That's why I can't get behind either of their fans. People don't want to see they have more similarities they they want to admit

If you’ve done any research at all, you’d learn that even the more reputable sources ( Tina Brown) have discovered that Carole and Kate aggressively pursued William. It is also well known, that despite gossip to the contrary, William appears to be incredibly fond of the Middletons and loves Kate. Did he reportedly have a wandering eye when they were younger? Allegedly, but, he would always come back to Kate and felt safe and loved in the close-knit package of her family. His attraction to Kate had a lot to do with her normal and happy upbringing. It also helped that she and her family were accepting of and in fact perhaps keen to do whatever needed to be done for their daughter to marry a prince!

The aristos like Diana herself would be too self important to take the job seriously or put up with the limelight and pressure. Kate has a sense of humility and gratefulness about her role and plays her part admirably and with great intensity.

Lastly, Kate is beautiful, mentally stable, smart, ambitious and a good mom. All the qualities I’m sure made her a good match for William.

This is a case of both can be true. Either way, they seem happy.

You have never experienced real love if you write something like this.

“Real love” can be highly overrated.

It's hard, but it's worth it. DH and I are not very rich - we both left affluent but abusive families to be together. We had to give up a lot of ego to open our hearts and we are still learning, every day, how to be better people for each other. We have to break through a lot of childhood conditioning and although our marriage is not glamorous, it's also definitely not built on appearances. I am loved for who I am with all my flaws and inadequacies, even if I don't look as hot as Kate Middleton does in a dress. And I love my DH for who he is, even though he sometimes feels less than because he's a college dropout and I have 2 degrees. I'll take my flawed and annoying DH over Prince William any day.

Lol. So touching!

It is really odd that they ended up in the same dorm! Talk about destiny!

The highest status (rich) handsome boy getting with the prettiest girl in his dorm. And said pretty girl positions herself to get the rich boy. It's hilarious how the crazies get into Q-anon territory with this. It is human nature! This exact thing happens...at literally every college. If it's not the same dorm, it's through Greek life mixing. My prettiest sorority sister dated the hot son of a pseudo famous billionaire second through fourth year.

But he didn’t see her “that way” until the fashion show. I wonder at what point she realized that would forever be part of her story.

I think BRF should be abolished and they should make reparations to former colonies and other races that were exploited.

But, I think Kate should be left alone for whatever ambition she had or has. In all ways, William could not have found a better wife.

Like every woman who gets dressed up for a night out? Yeah, so much shame.

Oh boy. The exact moment when she finally caught the attention of her prince, caught on film. Plastered on tabloid front pages. Still talked about decades later. Cringe rather than shame.

I've heard this season in particular is nauseatingly inaccurate and extremely fictionalized to pander to Netfix's typical audience.

When the ghost of Diana appeared this series jumped the shark, and that was before any of this Will/Kate nonsense.

I see the artistry in it (25% of me)

The other 75% of me feels it’s not right for their ghosts to -even artistically- appear because it contrasts with the reality that *Diana was not here anymore. The end. Over*

i honestly don't see Kate as a narcisisst. She's painfully shy - and you can see that when she gets up to make speeches. She seems to prefer being out of the public sphere - hence all the criticism about not working. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors but she seems to have a happy marriage with William. She may like money but honestly who doesnt?

People who are shy don't have a history of flashing.

Umm no I'm referring to the many pictures of her flashing while getting out of cars and refusing to weight her hems so her skirt blew up. There are dozens of photos out there of her butt and...other privates. I have managed to go my whole life without anyone seeing my private parts accidentally and I'm not even the future queen.

no there are not "dozens" of pictures - stop lying. The wind blew up her skirt accidentally once a long time ago. If this is all you have to criticize then my point stands - she seems innocuous and shy.

….do you spend a lot of time on private plane runways with crowds and photographers waiting for you?
