Move or stay for senior year

I don’t get it, how three? So you are residents of a third state? I’m assuming you currently live where your DH’s orders put him at the present. So if his orders are to a different state, why would that affect the third state where you are “residents” of but that you don’t live anyhow.

Military is different. You can claim a “home residence” in a separate state than where you are stationed for military orders. People do that to if they have parents/relatives or bought a house in a
state that doesn’t impose state income taxes on military salary

Could also be congressional staff who knows their boss is likely out in November, and has already gotten an offer elsewhere.
