I fly every week for work. It's a remarkably efficient process given all the variables in play. Aside, the biggest of those variables (weather) accounts for the vast majority of flight delays. Your characterization is profoundly dishonest and agenda-driven. |
| My appliance delivery team arrived half an hour late. What is Joe Biden doing about that?! |
Uh no. Regulation does not determine all business practices. It provides some guardrails. The president isn’t accountable for your lost luggage. Like come on man. |
+1 |
| Happy to hear a Republican champion regulation. |
|
I'm not voting for Biden either. Last time I flew Frontier Airlines on my 19 USD ticket, I was told that my suitcase couldn't be carried on, just because it was a tad bit bigger than your average checked luggage. And also, when I arrived at that liberal maven of Austin TX, I had to wait...wait for it....4 minutes for a taxi. What is this world coming to. Also, I am in general upset, because Biden won't regulate the tipping industry. We all know that tips are part of a gang network.
All of this has made me so upset that I am drinking some bleach mixed with my daily scotch to soothe my aggravated stomach. That reminds me, Biden also needs to regulate the whiskey industry because this mixture is supposed to help me sleep, but actually is making me feel ill. This world is going to the dogs, I can't even depend on my Johnny Walker, Black Label. |
| Dems have gotten so weird about questioning authority. We’re all supposed to take what we get and be happy for it now? What changed? |
We're happy to have constructive criticism of authority. However, this thread is suggests that a President (or perhaps more broadly, the executive branch) has sufficient authority through "power" and "regulations" to do something about challenges facing the airline industry. The reality, simpleton, is that neither the President nor the executive branch has this unilateral power (and you darn well know that Republicans don't want the government to have it). Regulations are like guide rails but they don't always determine business practices and even then, they have to have an enforcement mechanism to be effective. Of course, when any consumer-friendly regulation is proposed, it takes years to become a law (look up rulemaking and administrative procedure) and even then, it is fought tooth and nail by lobbyists and politicians who are funded by said lobbyists and corporations to dilute it and render it ineffective. Also, as far as travel concerns go, you're looking at the symptoms of a highly complex system that is stressed due to a variety of factors. There isn't one simple fix where a President can waive a wand and fix things. But you knew that, amirite? |
| This reads like a “Thanks Obama!” Meme but with Biden. |
Ok this right here. End of thread. |
Democrats ARE the party of government. |
We are a capitalist society. Nothing is going to change in the airline industry or any other industry unless consumers vote with their money. American Airlines doesn't care if I am late for my connection. I just think it's ridiculous to be "thanks BIDEN". I don't see how the potus really has control of air travel. Sure I understand we have a TSA, FAA, etc. But I don't see them as being responsible for whether my flight is on time. |
This isn't about the OP's flight experience but their fright experience. They are scared of gay people. |
Yes, ok. I'm voting for who i'm supposed to vote for per. |
The federal govt regulates airlines moron. Taxpayers have them billions in bailouts too. All I hear from Dems n this thread is that no one is accountable anywhere, and certainly not Biden’s TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY, lol. What a farce. Every excuse in the book for Biden and his unqualified diversity hire. |
