Crop tops

It’s gross that people think little girls should show their navel while at the grocery store etc. bad parenting and I guarantee you these same posters will be posting when their daughters accidentally get pregnant in 10th grade.

No, we absolutely do not. DD is a 9th grader. She's asked for crop tops but we say no. She can have fitted shirts that reach to the bottom of her stomach - or to where the top of the pants hit.

I will not teach my DD that her only value is in her desirability. Such a stupid thing that parents do.

The question I always ask is why anyone ever thought the ladies volleyball shorts were appropriate.

The problem is that athelesiure is the style of choice for kids now and makes can wear it all for school, sport, hanging out, and yet again we are policing this for females. I’m not saying we shouldn’t but this is what is causing the problem. We’re still trying to dress code girls.

I’m all in favor of dress-coding everyone. No crop tops or butts/underwear hanging out for girls and boys.

YES! Everyone should have a descent dress code. I don't understand why progressives think that women are somehow exempt from this. Like its demeaning to women to be professional or descent? I've never seen a male coworker or my son go half naked to work/school. Girls are programmed to go out as naked as possible to please others. It is bananas.

Huh? You think the progressive women are the ones promoting young girls in crop tops?!

Bad parenting. Lol. No, bad parenting is teaching others to make judgement calls by appearance alone.

Social media is promoting it.

Progressive women are the ones accepting it and buying the crop tops for their daughters.

By this.logic, there is nothing that isn't sexy for females. Stomachs, legs, boobs, lower back...all sexy. Basically, they can only show arms and top of the back. For now.

I didn't let DD's older brother (DS)wear those stringer tanks or the cut off t shirts where the hole goes down to the bottom of the shirt either.

He wears them around the house. Out with his friends.

But not appropriate for school

Crop-tops for teen boys = also not appropriate.

Soooo glad those went out with the 80’s!

Shorts like boxers also no.
If she wants to sneak it out and change once she’s left the house that’s on her. But I’m not going to “ allow” that look when she leaves the house in the morning.

Same.

It’s my job to let her know these are inappropriate.

And also to let her know that if I do catch her breaking the rules, there will be a consequence.

So 7yr old should not wear bathing suits either?

Not to school.

She can wear a bathing suit to the beach/pool because it’s appropriate for that setting.

You clearly haven't been to Texas where my cousins live. Girls of all ages were wearing crop tops though that area is pretty red. Had a very Toddlers & Tiaras vibe.

Picked up my child from a FFX MS last year and saw a student wearing sweats and what I can only describe as a sports bra. In school.

Not appropriate.
