It is the norm, but the norm is also termination. |
Yes, there are terminations, but no, it’s not the norm. Rates of unplanned pregnancies, abortions and unintended births differ across racial, ethnic and socioeconomic lines. Flatly put: poor women are less likely to use oral contraceptives than their MC/UMC peers. |
Are you aware that the pill does not prevent getting laid? |
+1 |
Also, certain demographics sleep around sooner than others. |
Yes, impoverished girls aren’t as protected by society and have shorter childhoods. Couple that with early puberty and being more likely to be sexually abused by someone they know. It is not quite the easy, carefree “sleeping around” you describe. |
I’m not talking about abuse. So you think girls who undergo early puberty are more likely to be sexually abused? That’s messed up. I’m talking about girls who are precocious and who choose to sleep around. Big difference. |
You wouldn’t know about pregnancies that were terminated because why would you? Some girls don’t even tell their best friend, they just make an appointment and go. |
None of what you listed has anything to do with college students having sex. Maybe the boys in the Honors program with them aren’t giving your daughter’s friends a second look? The girls have No time for grooming and exercise so the boys don’t consider them as girlfriend material? Or maybe they have blackout sex at parties. You don’t know. |
How ignorant are some of the posters here. So many are obsessed to appear super wealthy on a forum! Yet they show how little they know. How little they read. Public universities have about an 18% rate of female students rate of getting pregnant. Private colleges have about a 16% rate of female students getting pregnant. Private colleges are slightly lower because of the religious private schools but not a significant rate. I’m not sure you’re using “low SES kids” correctly. Low income college students do have more difficult times with pregnancy and with red states setting women back 50 years, they will be the most effected. They are the only ones getting pregnant. Girls from all walks of life get pregnant. |

very
so is abortion suerte |
| As a rile of thumb put them on birth control and buy them condoms and plan b pills so they won't end up needing abortion or becoming teen parents. After 21 and graduating college, its fine to have babies even if timing isn't optimal, they can make it work. That is if they want kids and family. |
| I was never “put on birth control” or given condoms or plan b before college and made it through just fine. I didn’t fall into the wild partying crowd and didn’t join a sorority. All my friends were similar. Very studious. |
What are the demographic stats on those girls that you referenced earlier? |
Same here. We were given common sense but bad luck can play as a factor for sensible ones too so better to give all sort of armory. |
