Is 2024 about trans/crime/dei vs abortion and book banning type of issues?

It’s sort of woke blowback annoyance from voters vs their fear of repressive, regressive religiously motivated anti-abortion right wingers. Is that a relatively coherent summation?

Broadly speaking, yes. It looks like it will come down to which is the lesser of two evils: the unhealthy obsession with wokery/DEI/CRT/defund police/exploding black crime/trans activism/denial of biological reality versus banning abortion.

I'll probably hold my nose and vote for the abortion banning people.

I have to admit I never thought the Democrats would end up where they are now. They have more in common with the intelligent design is science people of 1995 than intelligence, logic, and sensibility.

Same.

The Democrat party has implemented policies on crime which put my kids (who will soon be going off to college) in danger.

I cannot vote for them.

Ha, ha, ha! My kids are refusing to go to schools in states that allow any boozoo to carry a gun. My daughter won't touch a school states where her rights are less than a dog. But sure, blame Dems.

Are they looking at safe schools in areas where guns are heavily regulated like Chicago or Temple?

No one is safe because the GOP REFUSES to do anything to keep us safe. Less guns would do that.
Let’s start with Red Flag laws, universal background checks, safe storage, raising min age of assault weapons and no more police selling confiscated weapons. Any weapon used in a crime should be destroyed.

I’m generally annoyed at both parties.

I want low taxes because I am rich and stand to inherit millions as well. But I also don’t want draconian repressive, idiotic, anti-women, pro-8th century biblically inspired law from Repubs.

I basically want a blue dog Democrat that’s pro abortion and socially liberal, but noooo we can’t even get a Charlie Baker type, the only idiots running are Trump and Desantis, both of whom are repugnant.

Why do we get extremes on both sides? Super woke Grievance peddlers on the left and zealots on the right?

Guns are NOT heavily regulated in Philly/at Temple. The state legislature is perpetually controlled by R’s & they refuse to implement any gun control members for the state. Most of the state hates Philadelphia, thinks it’s a third world war zone and there is absolutely racist sentiment at play there.

Joe Biden is as moderate as they come. He's the president. He defeated the more liberal comers.

I think this is right. Sadly both parties have basically jumped the shark. Neither party is acting in a way that serves the majority of this country, and that’s just sad. I was leaning right up until Roe, but I feel too strongly about that to risk it so will probably vote dem. I suspect there are many others like me.

There are millions of pro choice voters. The right thinks we are going to just shove all our daughters backwards in time to the good old days when they had no reproductive rights? Think again. The midterms showed that the voters are not interested in such nonsense. Not at all

And add guns to this. Gen Z who are coming of voting age are over a million strong. They've had to endure lockdown drills since pre-school all because of GOP refusal to do anything. Expect big changes baby.

Why do Democrats not support women in sports?

It will now head to the Senate. They should vote to protect women's sports - if Schumer allows a vote.
Biden has said he will veto it.
And, to add insult to injury - Biden plans to alter Title IX to allow people to compete on sports teams that align with their gender identity.

Don't tell us that Democrats support women. They don't.

You are trying so hard to make this issue happen but there is no way a few trans athletes are going to distract from overturning roe. That was an utter disaster and we all know it and are going to vote accordingly. But you keep posting all your woke or anti woke or ultra woke or bespoke woke garbage as nauseum if you must.

We know how we are voting and it is pro choice and it is important. You should join us because it is important for everyone, not just Dems.

DP. Yes, Title IX is dead. Abortion is the issue that will decide the upcoming elections. And a side effect, intended or unintended, is the end of Title IX.

This should please all feminists. /s
It's been a good 51 years for women. Too bad this administration wants to end it all.

Actually, he is. Biden is pretty much a pre 2000 republican.

Shut up about the end of Title IX?

If that's the tradeoff for abortion rights and gun control, as a moderate, I'll take it. But not happily.

+1 And the speaker is Cleta Mitchell who was working like hell to overturn the election.

What’s the problem? The AG is just trying to protect everyone in society from experimental drugs and get every single person in the state mental health help before being allowed to transition. If someone is transitioning then the state needs to know who they are and who prescribed the hormones so they can protect their citizens from the doctors that are trying to make money off of the vulnerable people. Transition is very common and a lot more people are doing it now. It should be frowned upon and be extremely rare if ever allowed. People need to understand that their bodies are fine the way they are and they need to speak to a therapist that will tell them that they are fine. They need to talk to a therapist that will reverse the indoctrination they received from the trans lobby. They shouldn’t be taking these dangerous and highly experimental drugs. They’re destroying their healthy bodies and need someone to protect them.
