Another Democrat switches parties to GOP

Good riddance.

Your post gives a clue as to why this may be happening.
When you demonize the opponent with false smears and hateful rhetoric and all the while embrace absolutely nutty positions on issues (abortion on demand with no restrictions, allowing biological males to compete against women, restricting speech, defunding the police, etc.), expect reasonable people to run away from you. Now, you might say that ALL Democrats don't embrace the positions listed - but how many Democrats have spoken out against them?

THIS ^^

I am active Dem. I've never met a single Dem who believed on abortion on demand. That's just a silly talking point that you love to say. The other is Trans rights. The truth is that most Dems are fine with Trans rights, but not ok with trans and sports. Defunding the police? Really? Are you still trying to claim this? A few progressives wanted this, but the vast majority of dems did not.

Good job with the false narrative.

You'd feel you'd been scammed.

That's exactly what's going on with this set of Democrats suddenly switching parties.

You're damn right we'd be pissed.

But, that is not what is happening here. They are leaving the Democrats because the policies they are supporting are bat$hit crazy. They cannot put their names behind policies that are crappy for their states or for the country.

Thompson, the first Democrat to switch parties in LA last month said this:
"The push the past several years by Democratic leadership on both the national and state level to support certain issues does not align with those values and principles that are a part of my Christian life."

Right now, the Democratic Party is attracting only far left believers. Moderate Democrats are finding there is no place for them.

The Dem party is moderate. Don't cherry pick a few examples and call it the majority.

Mainor began her political career in Washington, D.C. working with Congressman John Lewis.

I started my career as a legislative aide to Congressman Lewis. He is turning over in his grave with her bullsh*t excuse. School vouchers don't make you switch parties.

She must need the money. Fox loves every black person who becomes an R. It's their token for the week.

And as such, voters should have legal recourse, or there should be a legal mechanism for automatically dealing with this. If a majority of voters vote for a member of Party X to be elected, and he wins, but switches to Party Y, he should be able to be recalled if not have his term automatically invalidated. And all donors should have their money returned to them.

BS. She is from a district that Biden won by 89%. She is taking a great risk at making this move. That tells me she has thought long and hard about her move.

She cites the Democrats' positions on crime, school choice, and immigration - all of which are proving negative positions for black Americans. She is representing the voters in HER district - which has a large black population. She wants better for her voters and they are not getting that with the Democrats.

This is a wake up call for the Democrats. If her voters don't think she is acting in their best interest, they will vote her out. But, I would not be at all surprised if they reelect her again...... she is speaking up for them and will have a big voice with the Republicans in GA.

They won't reelect her. If her argument is that she doesn't like the Dems positions on these issues, why would she be joining the Republican party. They are no friend to black people. Crime? Why would you support the party that believes in guns on demand? Immigration? It's the Republican business people who love immigration. Who do you think they want to hire? This is dumb.

It doesn't matter. There are other Republicans who support legal abortion.
Which is VERY different from Democrats. Any Democrat who is pro-life is villainized and not welcomed in the Democrat Party.

Get real. You know this is not true.

No, it says she’s either incredibly stupid or someone with deep pockets was able to make it worth her time. You RWNJ are really enjoying the narrative that Oh My GoD tHe DeMoCrAtS aRe So CrAzY lOoK hOw MaNy ArE lEaViNg. It’s not real. It’s dark money. The kind of money the GOP thrives on.

Dark money, you say?

Oh! Are you now ready to ban dark money? Good for you!

Seriously. Do you know who Leonard Leo is? Do you know who Ed Bloom is? He gave $1.8B to the Federalist Society who've given us Clarence Thomas and the other corrupt Supreme Court activist judges. They literally bought the SC.

I base my feeling that Republicans are racist on my eyes and ears. Tuberville if you need one recent example.

Laugh all you want.
Let me remind you that this is a black woman leaving the Democrats and becoming a Republican. In the south.
It speaks volumes.

It speaks volumes about how corrupt she probably is. There’s no way she wasn’t bribed to the moon to turn her back on her people.

The thing is.... she is NOT turning her back on her people. The Democrats have turned their backs on her people.

Is that you, Candace Owens? Stop trying to make #BLEXIT happen. This astroturf of paying black people to pretend to be Republican isn't going to work.

They voted for a Democrat. They got a Republican instead. The voters were deceived and cheated. She will never get re-elected.

Maybe the voters in her district aren't as stupid as you apparently think they are.
Maybe they will look beyond the labels and see that she is working for things THEY want and need.
Because the Democrats have only given lip service to their needs.

I bet she owes money to the IRS. The need for cash quick + being angry at Dems for these really weird reasons in one of the Bluest areas of Georgia would explain the ideological switch. She probably blames Biden for her IRS woes.

It always comes back to taxes.

Abortion on demand is the platform, though. And Biden proposed using Title IX to protect trans athletes who are biologically male but prefer to compete in women's categories. So I think you and the people you know are to the right of the D party. People are accurately reading the news and listening to elected officials when they are trying to make totally unrestricted abortion a nationwide right. And when they are trying to eliminate the concept of sex as a biological, usually observable scientific fact, and instead make it a social status.
