Whispers on ND are that the dead guy was an exbf of Christine's.

What's ND?

I assume Next Door.

Has seemed like a love triangle from the jump.

Giving the benefit of the doubt and going with crazy ex, prior to marriage, who got more crazy with age and maybe drugs.

I’m one who says it’s normally the husband but I don’t think so here. I’m afraid this poor man tried to save his sweet wife.

It sort of reminds me of this story with Gret Glyer:
https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2022/06/police-fairfax-city-man-shot-dead-lying-in-bed-next-to-wife-family-acquaintance-arrested/

Yes, it does seem kind of similar to the Gret Glyer story. Perhaps the male victim had some kind of infatuation with the au pair or the wife.

This seems to be the most likely. I’m betting he was infatuated with the wife, since he stabbed her and left the Au pair unharmed. His age suggests he could be an ex boyfriend. Interestingly though, the husband didn’t know him… you’d think if he was acquainted with the wife, he would be on the husband’s radar. No forced entry, hmmmm

I dont think it was an ex boyfriend, the wife is not from this area (eg not high school) but the alleged stabber was. Timing wise, she and her husband moved here from NY area I believe.

Sorry to clarify, they lived in NY, got married and later moved to Herndon. The stabber grew up in NOVA.

Could the guy be a friend/acquaintance of the wife? Maybe a coworker or someone she supervised at work and perhaps the AP was tricked into letting him in?

Does anybody have the link to the FB page of the guy who was shot? Somebody mentioned earlier it stated some weird things.

I am not going to send the link but if you google his name and location you should be able to find it, or find a family member and then find him by searching their friends.

Agree with the other poster, he's a really weird dude.

Christine was the nicest and most generous person I have ever met, and I am deeply sad and shocked with this tragedy.

Is that why he had a gun in the house?

yes, he would have a gun as part of his job

He worked for the IRS. A bean counter with a gun?

An IRS Special Agent does carry a gun.

Still struggling to understand what type of tax enforcement requires a gun

IRS Criminal Investigation. Drug runners, etc. are obligated to pay taxes on their ill-gotten gains... It's how the Feds got Al Capone.

Hold up now... so if a drug dealer pays his fair share of taxes, then all is good?

Well, they won't get in trouble for tax evasion. But they still can get prosecuted for the other crimes.

The Feds always go for the lowest hanging fruit.

The profile pic was last updated in like 2017 so not sure how recent the page is.

No forced entry can mean many things. Maybe Christine answered the door and didn't look before opening it, and Joseph barged in. Maybe he posed as a handyman who was answering a house call.

This story scares me because I have a mentally unstable online stalker of many years, and I had been considering getting a gun recently.

The early stories all stated that Joe and the wife were known to one another. Maybe she had seen him as a patient? If so, would be plausible that the husband would not know him?

What did JNR do for a living? Was the mention that he was a chiropractor for real? If yes, anyone find a practice group?

I think this was a joke. His FB page (not updated since 2016/17) said he studied neck snapping at Harvard.

She worked in pediatrics.

What did the Joseph Ryan guy do for a living? Do we have any idea?

That was definitely sarcasm. He has his education listed as “studied neck snapping at Harvard”. No actual chiropractor would write that. A professional hit man might though.

Did he have kids, could they have interacted that way? Maybe he worked elsewhere in her office building and was stalking her?
