Can you start your own post discussing this? I know you really want to talk about this but no one wants to talk about whether drag queens should be allowed to exist with you here. It’s off topic. |
Shhhhh… you’ll be called a bigot for pointing out the misogyny. |
If you think drag is misogynistic, don’t take your kids to drag queen story hour and don’t go to drag shows. Easy peasy. Please let everybody else live how they want. |
Drag queens are not the same as blackface. It’s a ridiculous analogy, as usual. |
I guess. Maybe you would argue Al Jolson was aiming to degrade blacks when he performed in blackface? Maybe you might argue that drag queeens are celebrating women? but to me they are both getting laughs by pretending to be somebody who is looked down upon by those in power. |
Speaking as a Black person…what’s the difference? |
Nah, I think the MAGAs will continue whining about anyone they can. Hate and anger and lower taxes / reduced social safety net seem to be their only platform now. |
+1 I have often thought this. Democrats pretend to be "anti-misogyny," but then celebrate men dressing up in degrading and stereotypical versions of women. It's incredibly insulting, yet liberals couch it as "expressing oneself." AND think that children should be exposed to this behavior, for some inexplicable reason. DP |
+1 Not to mention, the "cultural appropriation." Really, the hypocrisy on the left never fails to astound me. |
The question really should be - why DON'T you think drag is misogynistic? |
I just don’t. I think they’re amazing and entertaining artists and performers. I don’t find them harmful to me, a woman, at all. |
What about Ohio? They cleaned up their elections and went red. What a miracle! |
Here’s the thing. If you don’t like drag queens you can just not go to drag shows. You can not expose your children to drag queens. Why do you care if I go to drag shows or take my kid to drag queen story hour? How does it affect you at all? How are Democrats pushing drag queens on you? |
Both Ohio’s US House gerrymander and its state legislative gerrymander were declared unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court five times. |
