Well said, pp. |
Nobody is blaming them for stepping back. It's the how and why. |
Is anyone else following the "leaked" excerpts from the Spare book? |
Yes. Unseemly is my first impression, but I supposed it had to be to earn that multi-million advance. Honestly don't know why his family would ever speak to him again. |
+1 |
The funny thing is he was such a screwup when he was younger, and was bailed out at every turn. He seems to take little accountability for his actions. |
The description of the fight makes prince William seem like such a petty and ineffectual bully. |
I have never liked Charles but I felt sympathy for him for the very first time: "Boys, please don't make my final years a misery." Sigh. |
So what's funny is that Harry is complaining that he has been sold out his entire life. To protect his brother. And he took it. But he drew the line once his wife and future child was involved and were being throw to the wolves (the press). What is most fascinating to me is that William can't seem to see how his children will suffer this same fate if he doesn't work to change things from the inside. Does he want Charlotte and Louis to be fed to the wolves to protect George? Because that will happen. And it will tear them apart the exact same way. |
He has an entire staff to help him bully people, he doesn't need to be that good at it himself. |
Remember it's a one-sided account, with quite vague descriptions of what he ("Harold") said. Also, seems likely Meghan was in fact rude to the staff, or at least perceived that way. Why couldn't Harry simply agree to speak with her about it? The fight seemed to reflect long-simmering tensions. |
We can only hope William will manage it better than Charles did. He does seem genuinely closer to his kids, which offers some hope. |
Agree with you both. Harry is utterly despicable to me. A couple of additional points: the initial reportage regarding the Nazi costume said that William knew in advance - it was a huge story. No contemporaneous story EVER referenced Middleton. The miniseries summary of this story suggested that Harry arranged to educate himself with the London rabbi — the Spare leak does not. The Oprah crying and finger-pointing festivities suggested that Kate was aggressive — the Spare excerpt apparently reveals a truth that neither Meghan nor Harry would understand shows them to be in the wrong, where Meghan mocked Kate, who was not an intimate of hers, as having “baby brain” and thus being disagreeable (Meghan had not yet been pregnant, whereas her soon to be sister in law was on her 3rd with extreme morning sickness). I truly cannot understand any actual grown-up who would look at what’s actually been said and done by all parties and think Harry seems reasonable. It just doesn’t work. |
Yep. I have a hard time believing that is how their fight/argument went down. Whats baffling to me is how quickly into Harry's marriage that this all started. Was there no honeymoon period when everyone was nice to one another or at least pretended to me? |
I am honestly stunned at all of the things that he has put in this book. It is extremely uncomfortable and sad. |
