You couldn’t be more wrong. |
Your platitudes have gotten us into this mess. Violent offenders need prison. Focus on making the prisons more effective, not keeping criminals on the streets. |
And it’s fruitcake catch-and-release policies like this that are the problem. Twenty bucks days that this is not this “young persons “ first encounter with the law Lock him up |
We have more people in prison then the rest of the developed world and still more gun violence. Your arg doesn’t work. The problem is not that we don’t put enough people in prison. We need a different solution. |

| How have they not located him yet? With all of the agencies involved or do you think we will know he’s been located before the 10pm announcement? |
Look, I agree with you completely and believe this shooting in the Van Ness area was a rare event + embassies = major news story. I live Brightwood adjacent, we have too much gun violence in our area/neighborhood . So when some other anon PP comes in and starts throwing bombs about how this happens all over the city without as much reaction or response, I am offering that I live nearby and I understand why a 3 person shooting at Kennedy & 7th is different than Ct. & Upton St. |
| Remember when we didn’t have all these crazy shootings?! |
Ah. Point taken. |
There were two other shootings this afternoon - one at 6th & Kennedy and one on Blair Road near the Takoma Metro station. |
Release the non violent offenders and there will be plenty of room to lock up abusers, rapists, and murderers. |

One of the bullets traveled six blocks

Big plus one |
No! We need to break the school-to-prison pipeline that puts so many young Black men behind bars. The so called criminal justice system is broken. And its racist. Prison is not the answer. |
