This will not be in the AG's jurisdiction. This falls to the USAO. It amazes me how the most vocal about prosecutions know so little about who does the prosecuting. |

Oh please what? You don’t think a young person who is mentally deranged to the point of Indiscriminate shooting into a school needs to be captured and treated for mental illness ? I doubt he would even be able to stand trial in his current state. An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind. |
I work in an inpatient psych facility. We “treat” our patients, discharge them, and readmit many of them a few months/a year later. They don’t stay on their meds and end up right back where they started. We have a very high forensic population (committed crimes, awaiting trial, etc) so plenty of violent patients. Getting them treatment isn’t always the answer. Many times they do belong in jail. |
I am not sure why you are wasting time reinforcing that you don't understand the legal system in DC. If an adult is charged with a felony, it is the USAO's case. If the USAO chooses not to prosecute a felony, but a misdemeanor charge is still possible, it could fall to the AG. But, the AG, can't prosecute the felony. If you want a gun charge to be prosecuted, you need to focus on the USAO who will make the decision. Demonstrating that you don't understand any of this by ranting and raving about the AG and Charles Allen does nothing but demonstrate your lack of understanding. |
That could well be. I have worked in Psych units and many of the staff are me as much as the patients. 😅 However, I have read that many people in jail in US (highest incarceration rates in the developed world) have untreated mental illnesses. I am all for accountability but medical conditions, and psychiatric conditions are as real as physical ones, need to be treated. Anyway, this young man needs to be captured, treated, held accountable and hopefully rehabilitated. |
Yes. |
He can still be treated, given meds and put in jail for a long time. ALSO we need to make it impossible to get semiautomatic weapons available to civilians. Enough! |
I love how the mental illness narrative comes into play when the suspects identity is revealed.
He's not mentally ill. He's a terrorist and criminal and he needs to be put under the jail. |
| So am I getting this right from the video that the shooter was shooting at and into a school? It doesn’t seem the media is reporting the block. Why aren’t they saying the target was a school? |
Ranting and racing? Are you serious? |
