We were just there. It wasn’t any more conservative or liberal than any other school. Plenty of different groups - everyone can find their place. |
This is what you think is happening at colleges--not what actually is. Kids are learning more in-depth research skills across all the disciplines more than they ever have. That's what I see as key to a college education. They can pick up industry-specific skills as needed if they have core disciplinary understandings and research skills. |
Some people are only familiar with southern schools and don’t realize that the straw hat/fancy dress/corsage stuff is a regional thing. Most of the country would think Tech leans conservative.
My husband went to W&L and didn’t realize how much of an old south vibe it had until we did college visits for our son in other parts of the country. |
