Wrong. The ID can be expired. So that makes it even easier. * Your DMV license may be used at any time. Virginia law permits an expired DMV license to be used for voting purposes. https://www.elections.virginia.gov/registration/voterid/ |
+1 Don't forget - purchasing alcohol. Which I'm sure many people complaining about needing an ID to vote absolutely have when they buy alcohol.

Do these theoretical voter fraud criminals have a stack of utility bills from registered voters who aren’t voting?
You don’t need a valid drivers license to adopt a pet. Expired is fine. And expired license (<1 year expired) works for flights: https://www.tsa.gov/coronavirus And you may not even need a photo ID to fly: “In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete an identity verification process which includes collecting information such as your name, current address, and other personal information to confirm your identity.” |
DP, but no, as a general matter doctors offices never ask to see my photo id, just my insurance card. |
WHOOOOOOOSH.... The point - which you're deliberately missing - is that the people complaining about needing ID to vote almost assuredly have had to show ID in many other instances. So it's incredibly disingenuous to claim obtaining ID to vote is just "too hard". DP |
Today. Did you read the OP? |
Sure - but you can also use an expired ID to vote. So what's the problem again? |
Under the current law, but not under the Republican proposal to amend the law. If you’re going to participate, it would help if you made a minimal effort to educate yourself first. |
| It’s all a moot point for at least another two years because Republicans aren’t getting any new voting restrictions through the Dem-controlled Senate. Might as well save your breath, because all you’re doing now is shouting into the wind. |
No one said it’s “too hard” but it will certainly be a challenge for some people. An unnecessary burden. |
Oh, please.
|
Are you advocating for no ID’s on anything that’s an enshrined constitutional right? Like the second amendment? Sheesh, you’re an extremist of the highest order. |
So then you’re in favor of the constitutional right to bear arms too? |
| I’m all for voter ID. Dems forget this, but old folks who don’t drive anymore don’t always renew their licenses. Old folks, particularly the white rural ones, also tend to vote Republican. Make it hard for them to renew their licenses by closing down rural locations and limiting hours, and plow efforts into getting your more urban base to the DMV, and it could be to the Dem’s political advantage. |
