Yes it is, considering most of DCUM was claiming that no one would upload and everyone would just provide a note saying their kid was negative. Stop being such a negative Nancy and celebrate that people are actually trying to do the right thing. |
Um, no, I don't. You are free to post whatever you want. But you are right that I am only interested in engaging in fact-based, rational discussion. Be well. |
I am the PP whom the immunocompromised poster above was attacking, and I completely agree. I also agree that we should have been more pro-active about keeping sick people out of school pre-Covid. So I am not opposed to rapid testing, especially symptomatic people. I only objected to the idea that the testing in schools would somehow end the pandemic sooner, as I believe the virus will ultimately make its way though nearly the entire population. People at high risk despite vaccination, like some of my family members, will have to take additional precautions in the long term beyond what society as a whole does. |
*laughs in work-acquired omicron* |
Agree. Happy the process is catching cases. |
100%. Additionally, they just reiterated that they plan to test any remaining students in the AM. https://twitter.com/annalysagayle/status/1478878197110517760?s=10 |
+1. Work for the DC government, which has been back in person since July. Caught omicron at a work meeting and had to cancel Christmas plans for my kids. Thanks Bowser. |
I hope this is sarcasm. |
| I think its about 36,000 out of 51,000 students now. Honestly think thats pretty good. Our personal Title 1 school was only 35%, but they can show results and or test at school tomorrow morning. |
Over 1,900 positive cases reported. More than a few. Also, I think this sufficiently negates the whole DC is using testing as an excuse to close schools argument since they are overwhelmingly staying in-person… |
I agree - DCPS for the win! Great work! |
| The stats are up, including a school by school and staff versus student breakdown. At our school, cooperation was high, the staff positivity rate was more than twice the kid rate but under 10%. Based on this snapshot there is absolutely no reason at all for us to go virtual. |
| Ageee that everyone will eventually get Omicron. But if keeping actively positive cases out of school through testing can slow the spread so the hospitals can keep up, then that’s a good thing. Testing every Sunday night sounds like a great idea to me! |
| What’s up with the schools at the end of the alphabet?? All but one are reporting extremely low numbers for staff submissions… Wilson for example has 8 reporting. Tubman 6. And so on… |
49k students in DCPS, as of now 38k have uploaded 78% participation rates with 5.5 positive rate. |
