Where did your kid get merit aid oos?

My kid got deferred from CW, and we're assuming it's because DC's stats are too high, and they figured DC will not come if accepted. Yield protection? It was a safety for DC, but if they gave enough $$ it's likely DC would go, so I don't get it.

What don't you get? Seems like CW offering merit to candidates whom they think are most likely to attend. A kid applying EA seems less likely than an ED.

It is tricky to figure out targets/safeties b/c of yield protection, but it is what it is.
