Looking at the first days matches, Visi, SSSAS and BI are all at the bottom of their brackets. Stone Ridge looking the best of the bunch, but not looking great for the ISL this year, after a strong '21 class graduated from those schools. St Paul's looking good to make it to the play-offs but Agnes Irwin and Bay Port looking like teams to beat.

Just looked at Tourney Machine: Are all the 10-1 scores some sort of forfeit?

Looks like STAB is the best team in VA this year and SR is the best in the immediate DC area. Times are changin’

Wait…we’ve been told time and time again on this forum that the 7v7 format is by no means a proxy for “real 12v12 lacrosse”.

Visi played a competitive game with McDonogh.

+1. It's only not a proxy for "real lacrosse" when certain teams struggle.

7v7 and no draws except to start each half so you can't get a 100% full read. And I am sure there are at least a few teams missing players due to covid.

It's a fun tournament though and nice to play different teams. Personally, I would like to see a non-IAAM team win it.

Chose not to go this year. Normally do though. Quite a few teams not there this year that normally attend - Northport, American Heritage, Milton, CSH, SP.

Also not an invite only tournament this year considering Robinson Sports was sending out emails as late as last month saying there were still spots open in the high school bracket.

Too bad. I was hoping to see GC “throttle” some more teams like they did to BI last Spring.

OMG. Are you kidding?? GC is not a top lax school for girls (or boys) and never had been.

STAB may be the best in VISAA but doubt they are 'top 20'. SR is probably barely top 20, with SPSG and McD the best in the area followed closely by NDP/Blazers. SSSAS and BI might be top 50 if they're lucky.

Sorta agree on the draw in a short 7 v 7 format, but neither SSSAS or BI have great draw players this year. SR graduated one really strong draw player, as did Visi. McD and NDP are hurt with no draw as they have great draws, but overally the depth of those programs is up for grabs if Bay Port - NY or Agnes Irwin - PA are on their game. Look for one of those two to win this.

You know nothing - literally were top 10 in nation for several years in mid-2000s-early 2010s. Shows how little you know about the history of lacrosse in the area.

Impossible to be relevant when it was a decade ir so ago.

Maybe but not if you reveal that Visi didn’t sub and McD played everyone on their sideline - oh and were missing top players. Visi has no bench.

STAB played at relatively weak schedule at Spooky. They will also play a very weak schedule in the VA league. Not much competition in those parts.
