DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Anonymous
Name 1 area Elite team in the area that is not ECNL or DA. I will gladly find video of their play and post it side by side to a DA or ECNL club.

Pick one.

VSA, PWSI have strong girls teams

You can keep drinking the DA cool-aid but that does not mean that DA is still unprovien. I will gladly stay north of the Potomac where we are not lemmings following the latest fad. Get a clue!

There is one DA in Maryland. In Baltimore. If they put a DA near Bethesda you will feel it. You dont understand the Nova scene where there in 3 Da and 3 ECNL in close proximity. 04 and 05 VA ECNL teams playing in the Carolinas and getting beat by 2nd tier teams. Top Loudoun kids going DA.
LOUDOUN ECNL will be 2nd tier. Mclean showing face at Spirit and FCV. VDA shopping around as well.

Who's drinking the kool-aid. It's the truth. You just can't handle it!

Don't want to be bringing up old stuff...but ECNL teams are barely playing any games compared to the DA teams. One less practice a week, half the games a season, large travel times, and almost the same cost. Yeah, makes sense that people are choosing DA over ECNL

Do your research. DA schedules online capture every tournament and showcase games. ECNL schedules do not. DA plays more games total but the disparity isnt as wide as it appears. Horses for courses, you choose.

Playing 3-4 games in 2 days to make up for the year long disparity doesn't cut it. It's like not eating for a week before vacation in order to lose weight. Losing battle.

No ECNL teams are playing 4 games in 2 days .... anywhere. In addition my DD's local ECNL team will have played 14 ECNL league games and 30 ECNL event/showcase tournament games in the prior 12 months. That is 44 games in a year -- which I think is pretty standard for a local ECNL team -- while I count only 28 games in the DA league schedule. So unless DA teams are playing another 16 games somewhere during the playing year it is actually the ECNL teams that play more games than DA.

03s and older in ECNL play heavily weighted fall schedule in VA to correlate with HS schedule. So in the spring you are cramming games into weekends - not good for players in terms of development, showcasing talent or injuries. But keeping telling us how ECNL is just as good as DA in terms of a developmental environment. Maybe that is true in Richmond but it certainly isn't true in NOVA. And who cares how many games your 12-year-old wins? You putting that on their resume? Next time a coach or club asks you to bring your kid's teammates with them to the tryout, let us know.

Interesting - Michigan Hawks dropping out of DA and indicate that other top clubs are also following suit.

Two of the rumored clubs are FC Stars and PDA - those are no small minnows . . .

Bunch of idiots on this board. I never said ECNL was as good a development environment I just was correcting the comment that DA plays "twice" as many competitive games as ECNL. Not true as ECNL plays more competitive games. And my DD is U19 and committed to a D1 program so has had quite a good development environment. I have not kept track of my DD's teams wins and losses in many many years.

"There are risks involved with making this decision much like when we implemented 10-month programming. But, after weighing out the pros and cons, I believe that this is the right decision for our players and our club. It will be up to us, players, parents, and staff to make this work"

That's a real confident statement. Lmfao

VSA and PWSI are the VDA. At 04 and above their teams are going to be weak as the top players are with the VDA. Even their 02 NPL team are labeled as VDA and are a combined PWSI/VSA team. Neither club is strong at 05 either this year.

Ok "bro" ... please tell me how many competitive games your DD will play this year in DA?

Easy search

FCV DA- 23 games this year
Mclean u16 ECNL - 14 games this year

9 games difference?

What's that? 3 separate tournaments to catch up? What's the added cost that ECNL leaves off to seem more fiscally competitive.

Love how VDA and Hawks leave Girls DA but keeps Boys DA.
