NVA (Loudoun) going MLS NEXT?

I’ve heard that NVA (Loudoun) applied last year and again this year to MLS Next. This would be fantastic for the kids in the county if this is true!

Would they? MLS Next is supposed to be the top level couple of teams in a region. They are already expanding to the point of brand dilution, there has to be a limit

There's no limit when it comes to the amount of money people want to make, even if it's at the expense of dilution.

MLS next is a side show for the MLS. When dilution gets bad enough, college scouts stop caring and move on to the next elite league. Dilution leading and actually elite league which then over expands is the story of youth soccer in America.

This is news to us! My DS currently plays at NVA and we had no idea this is potentially happening. My DS would rather play MLS Next, let’s hope this rumor is true!

Yes they are going to MLS next and the girls are going to GA. ECNL won't allow 2nd teams.

This would make sense with the rumor of Mid Atlantic ECNL will soon just be VA teams, since the North Carolina clubs don’t want to travel north. The NC clubs want their own conference (they currently just need 1 new ECNL club down there) and they complete their own conference. I’m sure Loudoun leadership are smart enough to jump ship if this actually happens.

College scouts don't throw all teams into one basket

We live in Loudoun county 10 minutes from where his NVA team practices. Trust me, we are still considering doing the travel if NVA doesn’t go MLS Next.

Do you really think the DMV is such a hotbed of soccer talent that MLS next can support Loudon in addition to Alexandria, SYC, Bethesda, and Achilles in addition to the United Academy?
