Up to 4 inches of rain in isolated spots. Flood warnings and wind watches in effect by 3pm.
I am thinking they want to get kids off the buses before this all kicks into high gear tomorrow afternoon. |
I hope not.
It’s wind and rain, it happens. The news people have got it all hyped up as usual. |
I came to see what people thought. School systems, and other parts of the state are closing. I think there might be a good chance There’s an early release. |
Hartford county already called for an early dismissal. I wouldn’t be surprised. |
It would be gross negligence to stay in school all day tomorrow and risk buses full of kids getting stuck in floodwaters.
Clearly MCPS should just bite the bullet and go virtual tomorrow. |
My desire to sleep in has had no influence on this statement! ![]() |
Doubt it would be virtual. Teachers were promised at least few days notice. |
How much notice do the schools have to give for an early dismissal? 10 am? |
I'd personally like an early release. My kid walks a mile home from high school. 90% of the time we drive him but we can't tomorrow. So I'd rather he walk before it gets too bad (this is me as a parent, he is saying it's fine). |
Not a few days notice. The decision to go virtual must be shared by noon the day before a virtual day. |
MARC is doing an R+ schedule tomorrow on the Brunswick line, "given updated weather forecasts, we have significant concerns about the ability to offer full service tomorrow on the Brunswick Line." |
30 mph winds |
Is there no one he could get a ride from? |
But he can walk home anytime you want him to, right? |
I don't think walking home at 2:30 is going to be an issue. And no, freshmen don't drive and other kids can't give rides until they are 18+. I'm not worried, but of course I'd rather it be earlier. |
