| Well rounded but no hooks. Tia. |
| Any more detail on geographic preferences, intended major or areas of interest, etc? |
| Maybe Econ/Poli Sci |
| What is FP? |
|
Fp = full pay
What kind of school is heat and how do his grades generally match up/rank |
| Full pay |
Excellent public. Rigor is good, not great. Grades are good, not great. Setting aside fit, trying to understand what is realistic. |
| Conn, Trinity, Union, Gettysburg, Dickinson, St. Lawrence, Franklin & Marshall. |
Are these targets or reaches? What would be an ED reach? |
| OP, we need more info - general vicinity of GPA, public or private? Does he want a big school or smaller school? Urban or rural? Warm or cold climate? What's the intended major? There are lots of options but frankly no one can give you good advice without more details. |

It would be easier to assess w a gpa as As and Bs can mean a pretty wide range. A 3.3 is really different than a 3.6. Also Is it weighted unweighted etc. so hard to say academically where you’re at.
However, if this were my kid, I’d try to find a Slac that I liked that takes heavy in EDI for full pay and maybe one that is a little slanted towards women - and needs more males. So - again w caveat that it’s hard to assess wo gpa, maybe for a ED reach I’d look at Bates or vassar. For a target maybe SK e if the ones previously mentioned on conn college But ED I and II helps a lot at SLACs |
As and Bs in core academic classes with several but not all APs. This is more about what is possible as opposed to fit. We will figure out fit as we go. The idea here is this isn’t a student with 1500+ and straight As in a heavy rigor course load, which seems necessary for top 10, maybe even top 20. He’s just a rung below all that perfection. But still a very strong student of course. |
I had a kid who seems similar and think bates is a reach that could work out, but Vassar was way too high a reach to consider. Vassar is HARD based on naviance. |
