In-laws want to keep a weekend winery date with friends.
Driving from Pittsburgh -> West Virginia, stay in BandB and do winery things all weekend.

We have a family wedding to go to in Philly suburb in late April. We already RSVP’ed but things are not looking good. All four of us were planning to attend but if this continues, we will probably not go.

Thx. Im so nervous to not go- its a close family member but I guess will see how things are looking as it gets closer.

My brother is getting married the first weekend in April (so 2.5 weeks away) in Florida and we are planning on going (family of six) as long as the wedding is still on. We’re driving but will be in hotels. It’s my brother. Not missing it.

This would be an easy yes for me too. It totally makes sense to reduce all necessary travel, but I would not miss an important event for an abstract reduction in spread. Especially when we are still going to work and school.

Here's that Level 3 travel warning you've been asking for

FWIW, I'm in Philly and I think you'd be okay coming at this point. We have very few cases and are taking it seriously. Obviously the more conservative choice is not to do anything, but if I had a wedding to go to here, I'd go and take some precautions.

But only abroad. Soooo many people are still going ahead with domestic travel and that will be the biggest culprit now. But no warnings on domestic travel.

That’s going to likely become a state by state decision, plus banning domestic flights will do little. People can still drive

At this point if people are too stupid to see the dangers in ALL travel, then we as stupid nation deserve what is to come.

Everyone needs to stop acting like idiots that require a ban in order for us to stop travel. We are a first world country with excellent education and pride ourselves on our critical thinking skills compared to rote memorization yet we are too dumb to see the writing on the wall here.

Shares of Carnival Corp. slid more than 20% in pre-market trading Thursday after its Princess Cruises line announced the suspension of all operations for two months due to the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/12/carnivals-princess-cruises-to-pause-global-ship-operations-for-60-days-over-coronavirus.html

"Princess said it will compensate affected customers with credit for a free cruise with “an additional generous future cruise credit benefit” that they can apply toward another cruise. Customers can also request a cash refund online."

Yup but that's why a blanket ban is needed

THANK YOU!!!

I can't believe there are idiots still asking about whether they should travel for weddings and dates. Corporations are making decisions to forgo millions upon millions of dollars of revenue which is very atypical of businesses. They're doing so because stopping the spread is the #1 priority right now and rightfully so. And yet you have selfish, dense individuals coming on here asking if they should attend weddings, stay in hotels, etc. No, No, No. Stay home as much as possible. Stop being an entitled, selfish moron.

Typically, I wouldn't use this type of language, but there is no reason to think your personal convenience should trump public health concerns.

But then someone upthread said it was likely all around, we just aren't testing. Soooo…..I'm all for avoiding international travel but I guess you still need to convince me that driving to Philly for a wedding (or equivalent) is really going to make a difference. Name calling isn't enough.

Because people are trying to figure this out with little or conflicting information. I appreciate what you say about corporations but is the name calling really necessary? Everyone on this board is trying to figure this out and it's confusing. Weddings are important events for many people even if you think people should not attend provide some real information instead of calling people selfish and entitled. You are not helpful.
