If a prospective coach sees a player who can juggle well or for long periods, it is merely one measure to show that the player has spent a lot of personal time with the ball (outside of structured practice time) to demonstrate a strong interest in the game. There are a lot of players who can juggle a long time, but they lack speed, technical skills, soccer IQ, etc. It is simply another evaluation metric for a coach when all else appears to be about equal.

There is one toxic troll poster who is an ass. It’s the “my kid juggle 1 second per touch” idiot. Every post is toxic and show his lack of knowledge. Hey loser move over to the juggling thread.

Yeah. Move over juggling trolls—the VSA trolls want a shot here and you’re hogging the thread!

VSA trolls? Why do people want to troll VSA? Because they are just big and physical or because their win today means other girls take those coveted DA spots at Arlington?

Arlington is way a better team, they lost to VSA by 1 goal difference. It doesn’t say anything. Arlington risks more because they are actually playing. On the other side VYS plays counterattack, keeps players on the back, only 1-2 up front. Not really a great way for your players to learn the game (they may win though). VSA — have you seen the size of some of the players? This is what I saw, three steps of a large player is half of an average 12 year old kid. Good luck to these girls if they are having any challenge at all and learning to actually play.

Hard to digest for some parents but true. Win win win with no challenge you don’t know where your children are at on the learning curve...

VSA beat Richmond Strikers in the final. Completely different style of play. All VSA does is kick the ball down the field. Run and gun style. They do get lucky with goals but are not nearly as good at Richmond Strikers. Strikers play a technical, build from back game. All said Assist was very competitive for Louden, Arlington, Strikers and VSA. Games could have gone either way. Some outstanding players on all of those teams and some weak areas.

Yes, thank you from across the Atlantic. The irony of course is that both Strikers and Arlington have a well-deserved reputation for kick and run. Looks like they may be changing. Let’s all hope so.

yup.. both strikers and arlington significantly smaller than VSA and both also attempting to control possession. VSA plays "knock it down field and see what happens." They are going to have a very hard time at 11 v 11. I think the Strikers will be fine. 1-nil is a hard way to lose, but the difference in skill and technical was evident..

I ended up seeing a lot of the games this week and have no horse in this race. The strikers were bigger vs the VSA. So that excuse really will not fly. The game between the strikers and VSA was very entertaining today. Arlington is not the better team. Arlington would lose 9 out of 10 games to either of those teams. They have already lost twice to VSA. Seriously the lack of foot skills, composure on the ball and soccer IQ exhibited by Arlington is shocking. The speed of play is slow.
The strikers took apart Loudoun in the early game today. Arlington is not better vs Loudoun. Look at it this way. If you had to make a team from the strikers, Loudoun, VSA and Arlington maybe two players from Arlington would make the team with one starting.

And how is the weather in Arlington? Still fair?

Strikers players bigger than VSA’s? I don’t think so...

No kidding. Lost all credibility by claiming Strikers were bigger than VSA. Arlington and VSA play a much more similar brand of soccer.

Arlington played Loudon to a draw at the end of last fall and won the bracket in a shoot-out. Yes, Loudon won the final, but that just means they split. The Strikers handled Loudon easily. The Strikers are still the team to beat. A single one-goal game on a undersized field doesn't change that.

Arlington and Richmond parents chirped quite a bit about who was seeded where, which I guess is more important to them than what actually happened when the teams played their games? Sure, I follow all that . . . Better step up next week or those DA spots are going somewhere else.
