US has no good options in Ukraine

Better re-assess. Even his SecDef thought Biden would be better.

People I love are going to die because Biden won't provide real military support. We are sending a message that Putin can do WHATEVER HE WANTS with no consequences.

Please, call your reps and ask for military support for my country. If you disagree with that, at least PLEASE donate to support Ukraine's army. Here is a trusted group with experience, logistics, etc that is getting supplies and support to Ukrainians now:

It’s been this way for years, we did nothing for Crimea.

We’re not going to take Putin’s bait to start a world war.

Hah, that's funny, thinking Americans can remember or will use what happened in 2022 to influence their voting in 2024.

You still believe the Russia collusion narrative??? Why would Putin want Trump to be president when Biden is handing everything to him on a silver platter???? Please explain.

What exactly is Biden handing to him on a silver platter? Be specific.

I’ll be very specific: Ukraine.

Sure, he should have troops on the ground and as it escalates, who cares if it ends up ICBMs raining down on US and Russia cities

No, instead we should just let Russia take over every former Soviet country and do nothing. We have nukes, too! I thought it was mutually assured destruction, not "Let one country do whatever the f!ck they want." We're showing Russia they can get away with anything short of attacking NATO and we'll just sit there.

So you're advocating for starting a world war. Yes, that's the sane option.

The US and Russia promised to defend Ukrainian sovereignty if they gave up their nukes. North Korea and Iran will never give up nukes now and more countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Poland, etc will be looking to arm themselves with nukes.

Ukraine isn't in NATO because NATO members decided that it wasn't worth the death of their soldiers to protect. It really is as simple as that. What's happening is awful, but that doesn't mean that I want US armored divisions duking it out with Russian tank columns

What happens when Ukrainian forces retreat to Poland? Do you stop them at the boarder and let ten Russians kill them or maybe they slip in to Poland and the Russian pursue. What you going to?

Poland has one of the last remaining western militaries capable of armored warfare. There is no chance the Russians are stupid enough to chase them.

As someone who was born and raised in a dictatorship, I'm always baffled to see people who have all the historical ressources at their disposal to make better choices choose to go in the opposite direction. What we're currently witnessing is the end of putin as we knew him but also the end of the russian federation as it currently stands.

Russia doesn’t have the financial nor human ressources to engage in a protracted military conflict with multiple nations at once . Worse, this war is putin's and solely putin's. If anyone saw that awkward exchange he had with his spy chief , you'd know this . There's no realistic path through which it ends well for putin and russia .

This is what I think also but have been hesitant to say it because it seems to contrary to conventional wisdom.

There won't be a protracted military conflict with multiple countries. There will be a brief conflict with one nation and then possibly an insurgency to deal with.

Russia is saying they are taking out Nazis in Ukraine. So if Rs are aligned with Russia, why are they taking out their friends? According to Dems, Rs are Nazis. Why don’t Dems want Nazis destroyed?

I don’t know what being raised in a dictatorship adds, but I think your assessment of Putin’s strength and that of his army and navy is wrong.

Over the last 50 years, and especially in the last 30, the US has become too reliant on imports and cannot be self sufficient: from oil, to processors to micro chips, to food, to the clothes/shoes you wear, your covid tests, medicine, autos, your iPhone, computers, machinery, just absolutely everything. List all the things you use on a daily basis that are 100% made in the USA; then list the things that are at least partially made in China.

We've economically put ourselves in a horrible position of dependency on foreign everything because we LOVE cheap stuff. And the chickens have now come home to roost. Russia has us by the balls, especially if China sides with them. The US cannot sanction Russia enough to make a difference that wouldn't result in a retaliation by Russia/china that would devastate the US, and the US knows it. This isn't WWII where "We Can Do It" and women save the day.

Look at Germany Russia has threatened to shut off the gas pipeline against Germany. That would actually affect people all the way to France, as an example. No heat, no hot water, many will be unable to cook. That's just a small example.

This situation is incredibly complicated. I am not pro or anti Biden, but I am anti being so dependent on cheap foreign made goods that we have to sit on our hands while innocent people get bombed and killed. Look what we have done to ourselves.

People still think Russia is stuck in 1995
