This kinds of stuff happens and is not indicative of a larger crime wave.
It's four carjackings of grandmas on their way to church on Sunday morning that show the trend. |
| What club? Anybody know? |
| That's horrible. I cannot believe that we make legal gun ownership so difficult in DC (rightly, and I say this as a legal gun owning household) and illegal gun-ownership gets a slap on the wrist. It's a scandal that needs even more investigative work. |
| H street corridor, maybe the Atlas. |
| Maybe I’m jaded, but I wouldn’t characterize this as a mass shooting |
I agree. I really do not understand why we can't get more funding for more policing. I lean left, and will never vote for a conservative, but come on. Do better, liberals. |
It’s the definition of a mass shooting. 4 people were shot |
The Atlas is hardly a nightclub. |
The nightclub was the Cru Hookah Lounge. |
MPDs funding wasn't reduced. I think it may have increased. |
|
Hookah bars seem to attract a lot of crime, has also happened on U St. and in downtown SS.
I think Cru is a chain or franchises? |
| This issue is MPD leaving or retiring at a far higher rate than they can recruit, not funding at this point. Higher signing bonuses and other incentives have been tried, other area LE are also struggling to recruit and there is a lot of competition in this area. |
| Thanks Charles Allen for the violence interrupters. Doing a great job at reducing crime! |
Reports say the police showed up within a minute of the shooting. And from what I’m reading elsewhere, private security were among those shot. |
