Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

No one wants a whiner parent, especially one that hides and takes his complaints to the message board nearly every day. Who wants that parent on the team? No one.

You want to set up a no-win situation where it's either "you don't have a kid on VLC, so why do you care how well they do?" or it's "you have a kid on VLC but you're disgruntled, so why don't you tell your son's coach about it?". Is there a point to this other than puerile one-upmanship? Do you have anything positive to contribute?

Sorry VLC was not the right fit for your son. But your posts on this board reveal more about your own issues than the program. To to let go and move on.

25's were good in NJ last weekend. Were up early on FCA and tied 4-4 late in the 4q before collapsing at the end. On Sunday they beat the team that won their hoco league this spring. Final was 5-1 but could have been higher. Only bad game was LI express and that was expected.

This weekend 25s were bad. Played much worse against weak comp. Four bad games and one half decent one vs the crabs. Something changed and I think most folks involved get it.

25 VLC will be fine,and be getting better for 21-22 season!

While HoCo record looks bad, the team was competitive the entire spring, in a good division. Lots of 1-2 goal losses that could ave gone either way.

The team has some great players at all positions. Strengths are at face-off, goalies, and midfield.

Team lacks depth, but sounds like some very good players from other area clubs are going to tryout this summer!

Rumor and sideline chatter is that a good group of upset players from another area club will be trying out and can really put this team over the top. Should be fun to watch this team really turn the corner.

VLC has been a great club and there is no reason the 25's won't be competing and showing well as these boys go through HS. Go VLC!

VLC has been a great club and there is no reason the 25's won't be competing and showing well as these boys go through HS. Go VLC!

VLC 2025 has their best players practicing with other teams before tryouts have even started. I don’t see them getting any better.

I'm sorry you persist in your dishonest efforts to divert this into a discussion of me and my supposed motives. With such ad hominem attacks, you automatically lose the argument about the facts - as you reveal that you have none - as well as losing the respect of any adult. You should go away and think about this until you understand what you're doing wrong.

Two cheers if that happens, I guess.

If they acquire better players, that benefits the club's reputation because the VLC record will get better.

It does not show that VLC has good coaching or cares about player development, though.

One thing is very clear - the coaches of VLC 2025 have been unable to teach their players how to score points. They've had the same problem for years. If they get new players who can score points, then VLC coaches cannot really take credit for that - though I'm sure they will.

Dude, are you getting paid to do this? I've never seen someone so persistent about kicking an 8th-grade program. Move on already. There are plenty of options. I'm sure you'll be unhappy elsewhere, too.

VLC is run by great folks who work hard on the program.

They are aware that the 25 team has had some issues but I'd remind folks that team is still a young one, having only formed a couple years ago. Throw in COVID and they are delayed a bit more. 24-25 teams were first venture into younger teams for the club. They are developing and maturing.

You have to be patient. If your kid is playing, that is all that matters. College coaches haven't started looking at the 25 class. I truly think this team gets exponentially better over the next season and a half.

Ton of talent out there and 25 VLC has not fallen into some weird vortex where the club has forgotten how to coach.

This may seem harsh but if the existing team is not doing well. Maybe its not the club. Maybe its not the coach. Maybe the kids (not specifically YOUR kid) need to train a little bit harder.

I've seen toxic parents destroy a team over the years. Those folks will leave and keep searching for the golden goose, and will always be disappointed. Let them move on and replace them with better families.

25 is going to be just fine and they are getting a lot of talent to check them out,

25s had a bit of a time at Young Gunz but they lost to Crabs 9-6, had a 6-6 tie and won one 8-4. It sounds like a few pieces and they'd be fully competitive.
24s went undefeated and won it all
26s went 4-1
27s went 3-2

As always VLC posts quality teams at quality tournaments and continues to get better and better. They historically have teams that start to hit their stride during the summer between 9th and 10th grade and I would expect nothing less from the rest. 2023s should have a great summer and the 2022s remain to be seen but have certainly been hampered by COVID but they will still have D1s and D3s across the board.

I am helping you for free, out of the goodness of my heart. I am trying to get you to understand that when you attack someone's character or motivations,
1. You automatically lose the argument
2. You automatically look bad

I am sorry that it's so difficult for you to figure this out.
