No, they didn’t. They went 3-4 and were sixth in the division. |
| Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but does anyone know where VLC holds its practices? My son is a 2028. Whichever club we choose for him will have to be in a somewhat convenient location (Eastern Loudoun). We have two other kids and both parents work. Our lax player is our oldest, and neither parent has played, so not being entrenched in the lax community, its difficult to tell where the "home base" is of the many clubs in our area. I know Cavs, Evergreen, and I think HardLax are out by us, but not sure of others. Thanks for any help you can provide, or any feedback/opinions in general on the Loudoun clubs would be awesome. |
| vlc practices in fairfax county mostly with tysons and reston for younger teams this year. next year that could change. |
| This year VLC practices have been at Independence and Freedom HS in Brambleton, Quantum Field in Tysons, and Baron Cameron Park in Reston. Depends on field availability. |
My son played with both TC and VLC for 5 years, and we have family friends that play for the TC 2021 team. We attended a fall tournament with our friends to see how the TC guys were doing, and the program is definitely on the rise! But more than half!? That is just not true, as we know many of the VLC families. Can you list all the players that played for VLC too? While I do see some VLC guys on their list, it is nowhere near half. Or do you just like exaggerating to get your point across? There are a good amount of players on that list that played with Top Caliber for 4-5 years, in the class of 2018, and played TC every year as well as VLC (just like us). Believe it or not, some players play for two club teams! These particular players enjoyed playing for their high school coach at Robinson, and wanted to play for him as often as possible outside of the spring season. If you are going to make a claim like, "More than half the college recruits were VLC players," back it up with some facts, names, a list, etc.. Would be difficult for you to find over 50% of that list that only played one season with TC, as well as impossible to find over 50% of their list as VLC players. Probably more like 5% of kids only play with TC in the fall of their senior year and they do so because they want to continue to play against some of the best teams in the country to prepare themselves for their last senior season. in the fall, TC 2021 played Mad Dog National, Denver Elite, Iron Horse, FUNdamentals, to name a few. And let me tell you, all of those teams would wipe the floor with VLC 2021, while Top Caliber played competitive games with all of those teams. (and yes, FUNdamentals seems like a team that you would think is a nobody, but let me assure you, they were one of the most talented teams I have ever seen! Look them up!) |
| Ask your primary team's coach first if that would be OK and don't play with another team during your primary team's season. |
| I see VLC is doing tryouts in July.. Are they evaluating/holding tryouts for this summer and what tournaments are they playing in? |
Tryouts are after the tournaments. Tournaments depend on the age group. Most of them are going to Crab Feast and Young Gunz, some to NXT Meltdown and Virginia Cup, older teams going to NLF Summer Finale. |
| No and top events it changes by age but crabfeast and NLF eventss |
|
Young Gunz.
VLC 2024 won their bracket. Not really challenged by Hawks Black or Gonzo. Not enough teams showed up in this age group for a real test. VLC 2025 was spanked by Resolute Cinci and Crabs on Saturday, managed to tie Team MN. Then in their consolation games they beat Resolute Columbus and were thrashed by Cannons. Poor showing. Every other VLC team knows how to score points but not these guys. VLC 2026 thrashed their opponents on Saturday, got knocked out in the first round on Sunday, then won their consolation game big against Resolute Cinci. VLC 2027 lost to Team 91 Carolina but beat Resolute Cleveland and Columbus. Easily beaten by Crabs in first round Sunday, then won their consolation game against Looneys. Overall, nothing to write home about for VLC. Worthy of note that Crabs didn't win any championships either. Annapolis Hawks won 2025, 2028, 2029, 2030 divisions. |
| vlc 25 has gone winless on saturdays for the past 2 summer events & can't even put many points on the board in consolation games either. they cant clear or hold the ball either so they better hope crabfeast still keeps them in the weakest pool this weekend. |
He/she is back! Disgruntled VLC parent returns! |
You want to set up a no-win situation where it's either "you don't have a kid on VLC, so why do you care how well they do?" or it's "you have a kid on VLC but you're disgruntled, so why don't you tell your son's coach about it?". Is there a point to this other than puerile one-upmanship? Do you have anything positive to contribute? |
| They want to leave the team but they are afraid to do so by themselves. They are trying to get several players to leave with him so they can hide in the pack. If they go on their own (which they won't), other teams would realize who the toxic parent is. |
No positive contribution then, just speculation about motives. How is one “toxic parent” causing the team to perform poorly? |
