Oddly enough, Mother Nature may have become the Kingmaker in NC. The area devastated by hurricane Helene (western NC) leans a lot more Republican. With the exceptions of Asheville and Boone, the rest of that area tends to vote more Republican than Democratic. The eastern part of the state (Research Triangle and east) tends to vote more Democratic. In a close swing state, this may be the final straw that turns the 2024 election towards Harris over Trump.
