https://patch.com/maryland/silverspring/2-missing-16-year-olds-silver-spring-may-be-together-police These poor parent s must be worried sick! Anyone seen these tow, or have any info at all?? CALL AUTHORITIES if you do! |
| Most likely they are runaways. Just like all of the other kids they feature on these missing bulletins. |
| Were they close friends? You always have to worry about trafficking |
Would you say that if she was white and blonde? Thanks for sharing, op |
| Either you or the Patch is misgendering one of the missing teens. |
Huh? Both of these kids are white. They’re also both 16 which is prime runaway age… |
I thought they were both LatinX ? |
Yes. |
No. They are Latinas. |
Latinx is white. You get Hispanic white and Non-Hispanic white. Please catch up with the rest of us |
Both of those pictures are of the same girl. If you use the arrow, there's a picture of a teen boy. |
Click the arrow. |
| Yes, a 16 year old girl "who may be traveling with another 16-year-old reported missing more than a week ago" (a boy) is likely a runaway, not a kidnap victim. The parents would still be very worried of course. |
"Latinx is white" is inaccurate, so maybe you need to catch up? Latinx CAN BE white. They can also be black, Native American, Asian (yes, you can be Latino and Asian!), multiracial... They can also just put down Hispanic/Latino and leave "race" blank. You also can't know what race someone is by looking at their picture. Names can sometimes give an indication, but neither of these kids have names that would necessarily suggest they're Latino(a)(x). They may be or they may not be. Either way, it's far more common for teens of any race or ethnicity to run away than to be kidnapped/trafficked. |
| There is absolutely nothing in the description that indicates the police think this is a kidnapping case. Stop fear mongering. Your point about the parent's is still true, I hope they are found very soon but it very much sounds like their is information leading them to believe this is a runaway case. And that is by FAR the most likely scenario. |
