Anyone else only wear skirts or dresses, every day?

Anonymous
A new-ish friend of mine just realized I do this and she was FASCINATED. I didn't realize it was so unique, but have been doing this since ninth grade so don't even think about it anymore. Does anyone else do this? (I do wear pants/shorts to work out, but change back into a dress or skirt immediately after.)

Most days, but it's mostly because I look terrible in jeans and pants

I actually never wear dresses or skirts. I don't know anyone who does, so I'd also find that unique.

Meant so say that I don't know anyone who wears them every day!

OP here. For absolutely no reason (boredom?) the summer before ninth grade I decided to challenge myself to a year of no pants - skirts and dresses only. I'd always been a tomboy, so figuring this out was mostly just a fun, creative sartorial project for me (though my mother was thrilled). And then I just ... stuck with it.

I wore only skirts/dresses through middle and high school. As an adult many half and half? I’ve come around to jeans/trousers as an adult but I still often find skirts and dresses comfortable and flattering and have many casual options.

I would like to do this, but end up wearing pants some days, because I wear them for something active, then am too lazy to change...

I’m the PP who wore skirts as a teen and this is fascinating because I was the opposite! I found trousers uncomfortable so only wore skirts, fashion be damned. My mother kept making gentle suggestions that maybe they weren’t practical. 😂

How many pockets?

Do you wear a dress around the house and doing chores, or change when you go in and out?

I aim for pockets, but some don't have any. Yes, I wear a dress around the house doing chores. I have some very casual skirts and dresses, and "dressier" ones for things like dinners out, parties, weddings, etc.

I do not, but I would. Dresses are easy and look nice.

Yesterday I wore a plain cotton summer dress and my family said I was fancy.

OP, do you own jeans?

Yes, one pair that I let my mother talk me into getting when I went to college. I haven't worn them, but several friends borrowed them at various times throughout those four years.

What shoes do you wear? Any time I think of wearing a dress or a skirt, the whole thing falls apart on the shoes. I have to wear comfortable shoes, and that's usually sneakers, and now that I'm 50, I think I'm too old for the sneakers/dress combo to look cute.
