I need advice!
I’ve been doing a pretty solid leg workout rotation 3 days a week for about a month now. I’ve increased my weight on the equipment and noticed a slight difference in the way clothes fit, even lost 6lb, but somehow my thighs look more dimply than before? What is going on! I have a Caribbean vacation in six weeks and I really want to tone up my thighs particularly before then. I just don’t understand how I have been working my a$$ off (literally) for a month and things are looking more flabby than ever. Help me tone up in these next 6 weeks. Thanks! |
Genetics. My half sister simply has to glance at weights and she immediately looks strong and cut. She has a athletic body. She intentionally does low weight high reps and long cardio runs as a slow pace to try to keep her muscles long. I work out and it’s so so hard for me to show muscle even if I’m strong as an ox. I do the opposite as her and lift heavy. If she lifted like ‘em she would look like a body builder. Genetics. |
What are you doing on your leg days? Can you give more details?
Six weeks is enough time to see some changes. Just keep at it. Maybe do legs 4x a week. Or add sprints on an off day. |
6 weeks to tone up thighs.. lol good luck.

No need to be a dick. |
Run. That will create lean muscle in addition to your weights. |
I’m curious, what’s the difference between lean muscle and what I am achieving from weightlifting? |
There is no difference. You can't "lean" your muscle. Muscle fiber length doesn't change. In order to see what you think are "toned" muscles you have to lose the fat that is essentially covering them up to allow the bulk of the muscle to be seen. And you can create more muscle mass by strength training. But you can't "lean" a muscle. Its a total myth. |
This. Also, genetics, as a PP said. Many women accumulate fat on their thighs more easily than other areas of the body, so reducing it there is very, very difficult. |
If honesty make me a d*ck then so be it. Better than leading OP to believe there is anything she can do in 6 weeks to tone her legs or being like people on-line who sell BS programs. Should I tell her to do some crazy diet or exercise program that won't really do anything in 6 weeks? People who have toned legs either A. have great genetics or B. have spent yearS working on them. You can not gain muscle and "tone" anything in 6 weeks. best bet would be to go on a strict diet to lose weight, but where the fat comes off isn't guaranteed could end up with the same legs but small boobs. Most "toning" is really just low enough body fat to see muscle you already have. |
Ballet moves - long and lean legs.
RUN |
Bullsh$t. You absolutely can make significant changes in your body in 6 weeks. 100%. You are a dick for bringing up boobs every time. |
I think they look more flabby as you lost some weight but the skin is unable to shrink back..ask me how I know.... |
Run or walk a couple miles per day if you can. But also cut calories.
You can absolutely see a change in 6 weeks. |
Pay no mind to the nasty person on this thread.
There is a lot you can do in 6 weeks if you're tracking calories and staying in a deficit. First and foremost - stair master is your best friend. Works great for tightening up butt and thighs. Cycling also great, especially riding out of the saddle. You say you already do heavy legs 3x per week - are you targeting glutes? Specifically hip thrusts? If not, get those in the rotation ASAP. Overall glute exercises are great because most of them will work quads and hams as well. Also try banded leg exercises like banded squats, lunges, side steps, leg raises etc. Can also do banded floor exercises like donkey kicks, fire hydrants, glute bridges etc. Lastly try to get in 10-15K steps in every day. If you do all that and are watching your diet you should definitely be able to see a difference in 6 weeks. |
