Amazon ratings a day before launch.

#2,138 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)
#6 in Humor Essays (Books)
#8 in Black & African American Biographies
#97 in Memoirs (Books)

Oof. There’s just no interest in this thing.

I don’t get what you’re saying. Isn’t #6 and #8 good, even if in small, niche categories?

Not at all. These sorts of books are OWW, one week wonders. Everything is front end loaded with media appearances, marketing, bulk sales for book clubs etcetera. A book out during its first week with Amazon figures like this is terrible.

Her hair looks so much better at least….

The real question: Did he dedicate his new book to Jenn after she dedicated her cookbook to him? They were barely dating when she did that. Surely she earned a dedication by now. Who has access to one to check?

I just went and looked on the sample on Amazon...here it is in all its glory:

These words and stories are dedicated to the medical professionals out there doing the darn thang! More specifically, to those who are out there but often get overlooked and undermentioned! Like the surgical first assistants, scrub and surgical techs, all y'all operating room nurses, respiratory therapists, anesthesia techs, and anesthesiologists! All y'all residents, sterile processing technicians, patient care techs, food and nutrition services, oh, and housekeeping. Don't sleep on housekeeping! I see y'all out there keeping us alive, and I can't thank you enough.

This book is dedicated to you.

Oh, and also to ALL the Black peope. All y'all! Every single last one of us! I see you, family. Keep your head up.

All right, we good? Leggo!

Sorry for missing the typo in "Black people."

Tyler is repulsed by Jen. Even if you don’t like her, you have to admit it’s uncomfortable to see. They’ve been together for years now and zero growth has been demonstrated in this relationship.

Does Tyler have any black friends? His feed is full of white folks.
Also, if Sass is so concerned about his health, why does he not exercise or lose weight? He also admits to late night snacking. Sass, we see you and YOU ARE NOT HEALTHY.

If his whole book is written like the dedication, I can't imagine reading it. Those paragraphs were hard to get through.

I thought this was satire, a la Jane Capstitcher. Who in the world gave this man a book contract?

He’s sassy. Pure sass. I bet 90% of his audience are white women.

To ALL of the black people? What does that even mean? Sass is spiraling.

Yep. Assisted in getting you exposed/better known and upping your website views among her minions, assisted in taking you on a talking tour among her minions, assisted in getting some of your books sold among her minions. He’s basically using her as his publicist.

Two quick thoughts:

1.) "darn thang" sounds so cheesy, like someone trying to sound "black "

2.) Shouldn't the second sentence say "but WHO often get overlooked" rather than "but often"?
