Everyone should go to that thread and talk about why we come here and why it's so awesome! |

Big Sass’ new book appears to be a big bomb.
Amazon ratings a day before launch. #2,138 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #6 in Humor Essays (Books) #8 in Black & African American Biographies #97 in Memoirs (Books) Oof. There’s just no interest in this thing. |
At least he has the few JH book club sales
I'm not surprised that there's little to no interest. |
I would not have expected sales since he has no hook (not a big following on social, not a unique story, not a great writer) but thought I might be wrong when I saw his publisher was promoting it.Nope! Guess it’ll be a financial loss for them. Or he won’t make any money if his deal was to take promotion costs out of future royalties. |

Sorry but if Jen has a team, they all need to be fired immediately.
No serious team of even a low level influencer would let their “star” post a red faced rambling loveless promo where her “boyfriend” responds with “gross” to a peck on his cheek. The problem with Jen is simple. She had an easy market when she started; bored Christian mommy. She could still have this market if she wanted, even with older kids. She doesn’t want it. She’s “progressed”. But she has nothing else to offer that she does well enough to stand apart. |
| Her kids understandably don’t want to be on social media much anymore either. I didn’t listen to the Sydney podcast but was there anything more to it than White girl goes to India. |
| Is the Sydney podcast another out of touch interview? Say yes to the world? Someone give it a listen and review it here. In the 15 seconds I listened, Jen sounded under the influence. |

On her latest post for deodorant, she says she met the founder of the company on the Oprah Winfrey special. Then she says, "Stop asking us about being on Oprah, you guys!"
Seriously, are people asking her about being on Oprah? Or is she trying to get people to ask about it? Good grief. I wonder how many more personal care products she will try to shill. |

She doesn’t want it. She’s “progressed”. But she has nothing else to offer that she does well enough to stand apart. This. She mythologized her growth and progression as some sort of heroic sacrificial arc of glory but it really was just a pivot to get on a bigger platform. Like next to Oprah, a saint to her, it seems. This pivot, spoiler alert, never was successful. She’s not interesting or insightful or remarkable enough to keep it going. |
+1 thisnis the best analysis of this fraud I’ve ever read on here. Thank you. |
| Does still have the co-host on her pod last? |
| *on her podcast |
She seems to still have the podcast host. She wasn’t in the one with Sydney but she’s in the bio description. |
| Again, Tyler doesn’t show any clips with Jen at his book signing in Nashville. She has a long post with several pics and videos. The one video, you can hear her loudly, he’s twirling a ball, he looks so annoyed when he glances her way. Let that sink in, Jen. It’s as if you’re not anyone special to him. Everyone but you, sees it. I think you see it too. |
I don’t get what you’re saying. Isn’t #6 and #8 good, even if in small, niche categories? |
