Why are you having to point out her ethnicity? Is there any other girl in the story?

Because a lot of foreign born Asians don't know how to swim. Swimming is not part of Asian schooling curriculum like it is in VA public schools.
My Asian roommate in grad school could not swim, ride a bike or drive. Those are considered essential life skills here, but not in Asia. Some parents might teach their kids but more likely, the kid masters them on their own.

She moved to the US in 2006--so she would have been about 2 years old.

Its so incredibly obvious that she drowned, drunk. Its the only logical explanation. I don't understand the finger pointing at the other drunk kids. Yes, they were on spring break. Kids do dumb sh!t on spring break. I also did incredibly stupid stuff in Daytona Beach in 1996. Most people get lucky, she didn't.

Swimming is not part of VA public school curriculum. That is entirely on the family to teach.

- signed a VA public school grad with two VA public school teenagers.

Ignorant comment. Your view of others' cultures and a continent is based on your experience with one roommate you had who was from Asia? Wonder how the Olympian swimmers from other countries learned and trained to swim? in their bathrooms? Konanki came to US before preschool. how do you know she didn't learn to swim while she lived in VA, or while in college in PA? In this case, no one seems to know if she even went into the water that morning. Regardless, that water is tough for even the most advanced swimmers.

And even if she could swim, she’s no match for those roses and waves. People died the week prior drowning there. The water there is notoriously dangerous.

Currents, not roses

Yep. We swam at night completely trashed at Panama City Beach in 1998. My friend left "Club La Vela" (tagline "Party with Thousands!") completely wasted with an equally wasted guy..to ride without a helmet on his motorcycle. They hooked up at his trailer and she showed up after noon the next day. People do incredibly stupid stuff drunk on spring break.

It is not key. Tough waters even for the most advanced swimmers. No one has confirmed she actually went into the water, have they?

Hey you. It’s obvious she went into the water.

I can imagine a scenario in which they thought she was hooking up with the guy or passed out in his room. From pictures it looks like she had been hanging out with him for more than just that day. Remember, they were all out until about 5 AM so they are probably thinking she was sleeping off the night before. They could’ve even knocked on his door and no one answered and thought they were just asleep. They really had no reason to think anything Criminal happened to her.

The photos are all from one evening. It has not been stated that they met prior to that.

And others went on alternative spring breaks. the spring break you and several posters have written here is not the only type of spring break experiences of college students et al

It's predominantly one YOU pp who must be part of the family community in some way but absolutely refuses to accept this "logical" explanation, even as a possibility. It's beyond comprehension to her that the victim here may have made some unwise decisions (or that she drank alcohol or may have been drunk). So she continuously attempts to divert the thread with conspiracy theories, mostly naming and pointing to the guy. The other group are true crime junkies.

Women are weaker and she was far smaller. She didn’t force him anywhere.

He was holding onto her in a very controlling way, not just supporting or affectionate.

Was his shirt torn? How did he get the scratches? Did his missing shirt or shoes have blood on them?

His whole town is the size of a large HS. People who know him will know if he is an angry drunk, disrespects girls or is some gentle giant type.

Typical DCUM, always looking to blame the man, to the point of trying to see if he was an "angry drunk".

The beach and waves there were treacherous. It was 4am and dark. She was drunk. Perhaps she... drowned in such dangerous conditions?

Disgusting to imply this man did anything to her. Everyone in this situation used bad judgement.

He has been named a POI by LE, loon.

Investigators have named him a POI. Why are you so hysterically trying to obfuscate that fact?

POI just means that he has information relevant to the case, as the last known person with her. It does not mean he's a suspect.
