Yes they keep saying and showing he cried, but I have not yet seen one tear or teary eye. |
Really? He was teary eyed the day after she died. His eyes were red |
Watch him at the Prince’s Vigil in St Giles. Tears were very much in evidence. The Scottish crown likely recalled how happy his mother was in Scotland. |
So so funny. How little you know. Yeah, a deep curtsey means so much. |
It does. That is why Princess Anne accorded the deep curtsey to her mother out of a sign of respect. It was similar to Queen Elizabeth bowing her head as her ex-daughter-in-law's coffin was hauled past her. The Sussexes can return to their American celebrity to be followed by those of a limited sort. |

"Obama also said his mother-in-law and two daughters went to England for a vacation, and the Queen invited them to have tea at the palace.
“The girls and my mother-in-law came through London probably my second year in office, and there was no expectation that they’re going to be seeing her,” he said. “Actually, Buckingham Palace reached out, and she decided to invite them over for tea.” The politician and author said they never imagined that happening. “And so, I’ve got Malia, who at that point is eleven, Sasha who is eight, and my mother-in-law, who was a stay-at-home mom and a secretary for a bank —who lived on the south side of Chicago her whole life, sitting there with the Queen of England,” he said, adding Her Majesty wanted to treat them like royalty. “And then she insists that the girls take her golden carriage, which I guess she uses for jubilees, on a long drive through the Palace grounds. None of this was ever reported. It was just something that she did quietly.” Interesting facts about how the Queen treated the Obama family. |
Oh that’s very sweet. I had not heard that. |
|
I wish Obama could go to the funeral. I understand why not, but it’s unfortunate.

I was curious about this, so I did some research. In Scotland, undergraduate degrees take 4 years, longer than the 3 years for most English undergraduate degrees. The weird thing, though, is that a Scottish MA is the equivalent of our Bachelor of Arts in the U.S. There is no "BA" in Scotland. A four year undergraduate on the Arts track earns an MA and a four year undergraduate on the Sciences track earns a B.Sc. Weird. |
What’s weird about it? They use different words for lots of things. Garden/yard, loo/toilet, rubbish/garbage, etc. |
It’s 75 pages long because there are some people from the UK very very invested in keeping this thread alive. To be frank people in the US have no interest in the Queen or the “monarchy”. It’s ridiculous actually. |
Yet here you are. |
Yes pp you are above us so no need to post anymore. |
