75 Hard

Anonymous
Anyone complete 75 Hard? What impact did it have on your life (weight loss, better intentions, ??)?

FYI - for 75 days you:
Stick to one diet, and only that diet. (Frisella writes on the site: " I developed 75 HARD to run in-line with your current diet program...no matter what it is.")
No alcohol or cheat meals (although it is unclear what constitutes a "cheat meal").
Take daily progress photos.
Drink a gallon of water every day.
Complete two 45-minutes workouts per day, one of which has to be outside regardless of weather.
Read 10 pages of a motivational or self-improvement book per day. (some sites just say "non-fiction")

Results??

Sounds unsustainable, even for 75 days, at least for me.

Well, I spend about 90 minutes running on my treadmill and then doing weights or yoga most days. And I generally eat clean and drink a lot of water. So this is pretty close, right? I'm slim and healthy.

So, yes, eating well and exercising for that amount of time each day will make or keep you slim.

I do read about one novel per week, and I never read "motivational or self-improvement" literature because I prefer fiction. I doubt reading cheesy self-help books is going to improve your body or mind, but audio books while running are a great motivator for me.

My husband is at the tail end along with several friends all doing it together. It is hard (it's supposed to be a mental challenge) but he has lost a good amount of weight and is actually enjoying the break from drinking. Fitting in the 2nd outdoor workout is sometimes a challenge but I think that if you don't beat yourself up because you only walk 30 min instead of the required 45, you'll be able to do it.

The 75 Hard I’ve seen is a diet. With specific meals to eat each day.

I have heard of it and if you search online you will see many success stories. Its very difficult so if you stick to the program you're pretty much guaranteed results. Working out 2x/day while dieting and no drinking. Not rocket science. But it does take a lot of willpower to stick to it for 75 days so that's really the limiting factor, not that it doesn't work.

Day 76 is Soft

A group at work did this. Exercised in the am, had basic diet changes (no sugar, no fast food) nothing drastic, walked 45 mins at night and read a funny autobiography as one of the 10 pages a day requirements. They all LOVED the results. They didn't look like the website "after" pics but all felt a lot better and realized they gained great habits and did lose weight.
