| Yes or no? Do you think people who send their kids are racist? |
|
It's not racist. If you want to erase everything that was implemented, invented or associated in time with slavery...
Good luck with that. |
| It’s misogynistic at best. |
| Very few are racially mixed. It’s a legacy of segregation. |
| Classist, misogynist, and not inclusive of anyone in the LGBTQ community. Parents should be ashamed for sending their kids. |

No

So you want Wellesley College cancelled too!? |
| I don’t quite understand it. I have seen a few picture recently. |
|
I think it's steeped in a troubling race and class history, and that there are more contemporary and progressive ways to teach "manners" and "sophistication" but that most people who send their kids to cotillion are people who are not terribly concerned with being progressive and don't value (or are icked out by) the alternatives.
So, yeah? But more likely in a ignorant or micro-agression or insular bubble way than an overtly racist way. But I am sure there are a few racists in every cotillion class. |
Oh please.
|
Yeah cute but not the same. When has "cotillion" as an institution rebuked their troubled past? |
Troll |
| It's not racist, but it's...something. |
What “troubled past”? Enlighten us. And no, I’m not going to Google it. I expect you to have an answer. |
Ok? I mean, if you don't care, why would I engage you about this? |
