Is it about last Monday or this Monday? I thought the ransom didn’t show up for a day or two after the abduction.

Right. And she was probably gone by then. This whole kidnapping was a horrible idea from the beginning, both because of its cruelty and criminality and because of the medically fragile nature of the victim.

There were two deadlines in the first letter. One was Thursday (I think) which passed a few days ago and the second was this coming Monday. Having two deadlines also strikes me as weird. Makes it sound like the kidnappers aren’t serious.

I think this is possible too. That would explain why no one else would say you are talking to the wrong person. We did have her and want money (even if she were dead at this point). The sister an BIL don’t have the ability to do this. And they aren’t going to speak up to save Savannah $6m

Do have her. Not did.

Savannahs message is so weirdly phrased that’s is clear to me she’s speaking in code. The newest letter had something in it that convinced them they had their mom and her response has coded words sending a message back to them. Celebrate and peace and “we understand you” seem especially coded to me. The whole thing is so so so weird it’s actually like agitating my spirit.

Thoughts on the sheriff’s leisure activities while all this is going on? Certainly not the stereotype of the obsessed, dogged detective… or is this out of his hands at this point?

If I get kidnapped when I'm 84, I've instructed my family not to pay the ransom. I plan to go down fighting and will give the kidnappers hell. If I'm anything like my 80+ mom, they will regret kidnapping me after an hour or two.

There’s a reason why there are deputy sheriffs. Also, they moved the lead for the investigation to the FBI from the local sheriffs department. So should he have enjoyed his night off, yes. I’m sure if something was found and they needed his attention he would have left the game right away.

Does not mean your family will listen to your wishes, or will be spared any anguish about your situation. It’s incredibly unlikely to happen though.

The kidnappers are her own daughter and sil

What sister in law are people referring to? Your wording indicates Nancy’s SIL. Or do you mean Cameron’s wife? I have heard nothing about her or if he is even married.

When is kidnapping ever a good idea?

Oh you mean son in law. Duh. Nevermind. Carry on.

It makes no sense to me how very close family members could do this for the money. How could they hide suddenly becoming millionaires? If not for the money, then why take her alive and do the ransom charade? If they were involved, maybe they were forced into it by someone else.

It's all written by a team of FBI hostage negotiators.
