McConnell? You mean McCarthy? |
Mammouth? You mean Monmouth? It's getting ridiculous in here. I don't really care about polls. You can gin up a poll to tell you anything you want it to. |
If the right really cared about fiscal responsibility, it would not have unilaterally passed tax cuts without offsets to keep the spending balanced.
Everything else is just gaslighting. |
No, I mean McConnell. I haven't seen McCarthy enough to know if he is in the same camp as McConnell. Mitch likes to play failure theater. We'd do what you conservatives want, we just don't have enough votes, and that number changes from 41 to 50 to 51 to 60. Previous debt ceiling showdown had something about a commission to cut spending and a sequester, with generally higher spending. We will end up with maybe some cuts, but nothing of substance, while pretending something happened. Then again McCarthy is only asking for a cut to 1% above 2022 spending levels, which isn't much of a cut. |
I don't see House GOP taking their orders from McConnell. |
The president of the united states does not control the cost of gas. That would be socialism. If you don't like the cost of gas, then complain to the oil companies, who have been reporting record profits the last 8 reporting quarters. |
Maga cites polls all the time (BiDeN iS uNpOpUlAr) so your “I don’t really care about polls” falls flat. |
Oh, that’s right, who smacked down the attempted response to stop the oil companies price gouging… the GOP! They like the profits they’re making and the party they own isn’t going to be allowed to do anything to affect prices. |
There is no such thing as price gouging. Supply and demand. They can charge whatever they want. You can buy it or not. Biden attacked oil discovery, permitting, leases, refining, transport and everything in between with bureaucracy. He did this to give an edge to alternative forms of energy. As I stated before, he's an ideologue. Biden is a believer not a thinker, just like George W Bush. He's a danger to the well being of the US in a competitive global economy. |
DP, but the final deal is going to be whatever can pass the Senate with the support of almost all Democrats and at least 20 Republicans. That would get enough Democratic votes in the House because at least half of House Republicans will burn it all down before they support anything the Senate would pass and Biden would sign. |
