Henry Cavill - no more Superman

Anonymous
Big wigs at Warner Bros. decided they want someone new for Superman.

Henry was definitely the sexiest!

wait, WHAT?

He already quit playing Geralt of Rivia...now SUPERMAN too? WTF is going on.

(I supported him leaving The Witcher, since the writer/producers/everyoned butchered season 2 and Cavill was a genuine fan of the novels, but that was still a disappointment.)

So are they resetting the DCU?

Do you mean to say you never watched The Witcher? GO DO THAT NOW. LIKE NOW.

He cannot act for toffee, once you get past his looks, he just bores you to sleep. The man doesn't belong in moving pictures, maybe print only as a model.

Plus he dates teenagers. He will be the next Armie Hammer.

ITA he's not that great of an actor, but c'mon, how good of an actor do you need to be to play Superman? He's eye candy, and I want some of that.

I don't think that's fair. He was a much more entertaining Superman than Brandon Routh. If you want acting that will put you to sleep, go watch Superman Returns. Cavil has been hampered by weak writing and bad creative decisions and direction in the DCU. I was very interested in his return, because I think with the right director and the right scripts, he could have led DCU to dominance this decade, especially as MCU fades.

But in the end, it seems that Gunn and crew believe that the only way to salvage DCU is with a full reboot. That's understandable, DCU was mostly bad, bad, bad. Gunn wants to make his own original mark, not try to fix what has come before.

Christopher Reeve had comic timing, he also had charisma and a little irony in his performance. Granted he also wasn't the best actor on the planet, but he wiped the floor with Cavill.

When asked about being Superman, he said it was nice to have the cheddar to take his friends on holiday. The answer didn't endear him to the audience.

I don't think he's likable. Painfully handsome but not nice.

He should be the next James Bond!

I think James Bond needs to be a good actor.

I’ve only ever seen Cavill in the MI movie where I thought he was pretty good but not a great actor.

But you said they butchered the second season. When I watch something I like to know there are at least 2-3 high quality seasons ahead of me
