Matt Bomer would be perfect!

Nope.

Superman is not gay or black.

I think you have the wrong person. Matt Bomer is gay, but he's not black. And he doesn't really play gay on screen. He was the lead in White Collar and he was a bit of womanizer there and pretty convincingly.

Plus he dates teenagers. He will be the next Armie Hammer.

Wait, really? I thought he was dating a Texan woman in her 30s. But I am not great at following celebrity gossip so I may have missed something. If that's true, I rescind all my Cavill infatuation.

He is dating a 33 year old entertainment VP. Not exactly a teenager.....he has also dated Kaley Cuoco and Gina Carano. Neither of which are spring chickens. He dated (1) 19 year old. Not a good look but not a pattern of behavior either.

Oh well, ok one time he had a mid-life crisis and needed to make a stupid decision. I googled it just now. The 19-year old, Tara King, looks like a "confused but happy to be here" golden retriever, and he looks like fame temporarily went to his head. I'll give someone grace if they stumble once or twice.

Yes, the WB has new leadership and they want a complete revamp of the DCU (they changed the name from DCEU).

As such, they are canceling the plans for Superman that were hinted at the end of Black Adam. And the plans for Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman. They are going to complete the last movie with Jason Momoa as Aquaman, but then they are moving him to a different DCU role (Lobo).

They are looking to reboot the universe with wholly new cast of actors for the roles.

wonder if this will happen to the Marvel franchise as well. I could do without having to endure Tom Holland and Zendaya any longer.

Yes, will show Superman in younger years, predictions are Timothée Chalamet

Yuck! I don’t get the attraction some have to him.

This is accurate. DH works at/for WB, they are revamping the entire universe to make it less dark so they can compete with Marvel. They're (WB/Discovery) also cutting costs wherever they can - departments are getting leaner and leaner including talent.

+1 pretty far down the looks totem pole from Cavill.

Ya'll this is so disappointing. I enjoyed some of their studio decisions with the DC movies (the original Zack Snyder's Justice League was fantastic). And most of them weren't dark...Wonder Woman, etc were super wholesome. Black Adam may have been the exception. Tell your DH to ask WB what they've been smoking.

He dated Kaley Cuoco in an effort to get noticed/advance his career. And then he dumped her.

Cavill accused of toxic behavior against women on Witcher set.

Makes sense why he was replaced on Witcher and Superman. There’s likely more bad press coming.

Remember: he said a lot of bad stuff during the Me, Too movement.

I read she dumped him after she found out he had STD and used no protection. And he was already famous with Superman.

Interesting. I remember reading an interview with Millie Bobby Brown about how Cavill had "terms and conditions" for their friendship and would tell her to shut up if she asked him questions. She said that felt like a healthy relationship but I was like...no, a 40 year old man telling you to shut up is not healthy.

He was delicious in The Tudors.

I think Smallville did play with Clark's sexuality, right?
