Prince Philip has died...

So that makes her what a cousin by marriage twice removed to Harry? Her father was literally a Nazi and she appears to have been born in nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, so if anyone is looking to her as the standard bearer for race relations, they are probably looking in the wrong place. Knowing nothing about the BRF, I’d guess they pretty much ignore her.

You might be right about all of that. But Princess Michael sure was making a point of some sort when she wore that brooch when Meghan first met the extended family. Obviously I have no way of knowing what the rest of the family did or didn’t do in response to that. And obviously I have no idea how Meghan herself felt. As a Black woman who has spent a lot of time in majority white spaces, I DO think that this welcome-to-the-family gesture is one that might be both painful and difficult to dismiss.

+100

Princess Michael is relevant because they continue to keep her and her husband in the fold. Living in their free housing etc.

He was a racist?

That is too bad. After so much privilege, wealth and the easy job of breeding the queen, why did he not educate himself and become a better person?

He was almost 100 years old. How many woke centenarians are there? Not saying it's okay, just that he's partly a product of his time, and old people are not as mentally agile as younger people.

+1 Seriously! Some of these woke folks are going to be in for a shock when they're several decades older and being judged by younger generations.

You mean when their kids ask why they were sent to a majority white school while their parents were espousing diversity and equity platitudes.

Not really. I’ve made many mistakes in my life but I’ve been on the right side of history for the things that matter.

I was watching some old YouTube videos from the Queen’s wedding day, her coronation day, etc. & was amazed at how handsome Prince Philip was in his youth.

He must have had all the girls after him in his bachelor days.
He was a very attractive guy and the Queen 👑 must have been envied for having snagged such a catch❣️

Nope. She lives in Kensington Palace. She is not an embarrassing family member they've cast out and that Meghan wouldn't actually see.

The Queen’s disdain for Princess Michael has been well known for decades. The Queen has been known to sarcastically refer to her as “too grand for the likes of us.” She was also known as “Princess Pushy.” She lives in a Kensington Palace, and pays rent to do so, because she’s married to Prince Michael (hence her title). We all have embarrassing relatives.

I know very little about the BRF but I’m now imagining KP as just a weird group house from hell. Is it basically—if your grandfather was king you get an apartment there? And then can’t be evicted even if you’re a total jerk or marry a Nazi or whatever? Can you imagine having to live in an apartment building with all your second cousins? Yikes.

If you watched the Crown it looks like it did not last long...

So horrid how mean they were to Harry! He came all this way to grieve his grandfather and his family were giving him the silent treatment!

This is really how woke people think - that they have reached the pinnacle of morality. No persons that will ever exist could possibly be more moral.

That’s your take- that the family was mean to Harry? What about Harry and his wife going on television to tell the world how awful his family is? Was that mean?

How old are you? Because unless you're at least 80, it's too soon to claim that. Look at all the threads there've been in this forum about TV shows we enjoyed 20 years ago that we now recognize as full of homophobic humor and casual misogyny.

+1. Everyone thinks that they are on the “right side of history” Unfortunately it’s easy to make those statements and absolve yourself of any critical thinking.
