DeMatha had a Covid positive player. Since St. John’s just played them SJC players need to get tested prior to resuming team activity. The same for DeMatha.

How many out of town transfers did GP bring in this year?

Who else besides the Richmond fogo transferred into Prep.

Keep in mind, he plays on a club team that is coached by a GP assistant so I wouldn’t argue Prep is aggressively recruiting players. I’m sure it’s been discussed in the past and I highly doubt GP is giving free rides to lacrosse players.

Also, remember, Prep is not Bullis academically, it’s a lot harder to get accepted. No knock on Bullis as it’s fine school as well, just stating facts.

Who else has been provided food and housing by a GP assistant which by itself could be aggressive recruiting? Probably not more than one - a big nothingburger as someone would say.

why doesn't he live in the dorm like the other students from out of the area?

It is a lot more expensive to live in a dorm than live with a coach. That is probably a 15 to 20 thousand dollar benefit. I am just guessing.
Also, if Prep did not have that Awesome Faceoff kid, they would not enjoy the same success, or would rather be a lot closer to beatable. He simply wins almost every faceoff. I think he is as good or better than the Landon kid from years ago --Shockley?

Can we just get back to discussing the actual games?

These pissing contests are stale.

Totally. Nothing to see here; everyone please move along.

Back to lacrosse:

IAC Matchups this week as follows:

GP vs Saint Stephens (2 games)
Landon vs St Albnas (2 games)
Bullis vs Episcopal (1 game as EHS only agreed to play every IAC team once except for St. Stephens)

Predicted Outcomes:
GP over the Saints in both games... perhaps just maybe one of their games might be too close for comfort for the GP faithful
Landon over STA in both games...
Bullis over Episcopal by a good margin in the one game they have

Does anyone have IAC regular standing thus far? I had emailed our school AD and sadly heard nothing back.

Prep 6 - 1
Bullis. 5 - 3
SSSA. 5 - 3
Landon 2 - 4
EHS 1 - 3
STA. 1 -6

These are the records. Not sure how they will determine seeding.

EHS and Landon didn't play because of covid at EHS. Gotta figure those counts as forfeits and Ws for Landon for seeding.

Has EHS played everyone else twice?

Not a lot of IQ here; goalies are more valuable than fogos. Most teams double pole a good fogo and slow them down or get a 50-50 play; either way the offense has less possession time and must still score (e.g. fogos don't produce goals offensive players do). The best team wins lacrosse games, not the best fogo!

An elite goalie will have a 10-20% higher save percentage which is worth 5 goals easily; plus if they are good at directing clears and the 10 man ride add another 2-3 goals.

Landon is 3 - 4 (the EHS game was a forfeit per league rules).

Also, Episcopal only agreed to play Saint Stephens from the IAC twice. Every one else in the league, EHS would only place one. I'm not sure how this accounts for the standings.

Updated league standings are below:

Prep 6 - 1 (one loss is to Bullis)
Bullis. 5 - 3 (one loss to GP, one loss to SS/SA, and one loss to Landon)
SSSA. 5 - 3 (one loss to Landon, one loss to Bullis and one loss EHS)
Landon 3 - 4 (two losses to Prep, one loss to Bullis and one loss to SS/SA)
EHS 1 - 3
STA. 1 -6

Raise your hand if you think a goalie is more important than a fogo

I’ll take a top ranked fogo Over a top goalie.

There is a reason Prep has controlled the tempo of all of their games this Spring and it’s because they have the ball almost 70% of the time
