This forum is comical. I watched the DA showcase event and although I felt some of the players were very strong, there are several DMV teams in the U-17 age group that would at the very least compete very strongly and more than likely would beat them. Arlington and Loudon were not invited into DA and ECNL, respectively because they are bad teams. They were selected because they produce teams that compete with and beat the top teams in the nation. There are still others teams that are not joining ECNL and DA and those teams will remain competitive and strong enough to beat any DA or ECNL teams. DA is not for everyone. If you don't live near he practice or your girl is a multi-sport athlete, DA is not in the cards. That being said, it is a great option for some girls. I just hate these fools who try to oversell it. Remember that Bethesda declined DA. They might join down the road but they did not and have not.

You are full of ishhhhh. Go away. Again....you are a syzopherinic poster with multiple personalities acting as multiple posters spewing the same garbage. You are allowing your hatred consume you. Your doing life wrong. Here's your soultion: DON'T HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER PLAY DA. Problem solved. |
You are the one that seems all wound up over this. It is not a great situation for strong players but not worth cussing over. Relax. |
Bye Felicia |
How would that work for BSC? Why would DA need BSC unless they did something like Arlington(lower age groups only)? |
Arlington got DA because VDA gave it up LOUDOUN got ECNL because FCV gave it up Neither club has history of developing elite teams. Go pound sand CCL goof. |
Different poster. There a multiple posters here that think you are wrong and miss the point. |
Get a grip. No, ASA got DA because ECNL added at VDA. Loudoun got ECNL because DA added at FCV. All 4 clubs naturally good targets in the arms race to add a zillion options for this so called "elite" soccer money grab going on. Problem is after ID'ing players 6-10 for any given team, you end up having to give some playing time to girls on the back half of a roster who water the team down and belong on a B team back before 2009. Think of a state ODP team back then and the quality of the players selected. Now, everyone can be elite. Yippee for the guy that loves the fact that everyone gets a platform now. |
I am not sure who ^^^ is but he/she has no clue. Arlington and Loudon don't produce elite teams. If not, then which team is elite?
I question the insanity of the money grab infrastructure but do recognize that DA and ECNL offer a great experience for some girls. Fot those who can't afford it, don't live near a DA/ECNL club or don't have either the time or resources to travel up and down I-95 every weekend, there are other great teams which included Arlington and Loudon. BTW, there are six GU-17 teams from the DMV ranked in the top 25 and only two are ECNL and one of those, Bethesda, is ranked at the bottom. Navy Premier, Mclean, Arlington, FC Frederick, Loudon and Bethesda are all nationally ranked. Even if you assumed that all DA programs are ranked ahead of them which is nonsense, they are still ranked among the top teams in the nation. They are elite and you are a moron. |
Brain damage, or are you drunk? You contradict yourself. Hot mess. |
You are hopeless. |

Someone asked about whether or not WS was seeing any VDA player movement because VDA is leaving the ECNL. I heard a bunch of VDA girls (not sure what age group) are going to the WS ID session tonight. And a few have been watching WS games, coming to some of the ID sessions, etc during the spring. So, whether or not they do come, they are obviously having thoughts. |
Several posts back, there were some posts that made it sound like any kid 03 or older was a wash (or something like that), and we wouldn't see anything important change until 04 and younger. Can anyone elaborate on that? Why are we writing off all the older age groups? I would assume player development continues beyond middle school.

Because 03 ECNL kids MAY hold tight with current ECNL team (if the team is good) because a lot of them are 9th graders in the beginning of the recruitment push. ECNL is not totally dead yet. The recruiters know this.
BUT the majority of top 04 and below talent will be choosing DA over ECNL. 1.2.3...haters start your ranting |
