+1 But we'll all know what a cad he really is. A real jerk.

My .02 as an armchair pundit: she surprised him with the divorce and tried to play hardball. He played defense and out-maneuvered her. Would he have been more generous if she had approached him differently regarding separation/divorce? It's possible she had to play hardball, but IMHO, I think she is just not that bright and made a tactical error in judgment.

I think it was smart he settled. He was looking horrible and would not be surprised if he was concerned about what she could say. The original prenup was so over the top that there was no appetite for people to side with him. My guess is she got a lot less than first wife but won’t need to get a job. Hopefully they can do parent. Would also not be surprised if they got back together at some point. He doesn’t want to be divorced but she needed to finally stand up for herself from a financial point of view. She may not want an old guy though.

He hired Laura Wasser for a reason. She knows her way around a celebrity court room and money cases.

Glad Christine has been shut down. She was wasting court time and money. Asking the court to require him to give her 1.2 million for her legal fees to fight the prenup was nonsense!

There is zero evidence she was ever a stay at home mom.

She had a full time nanny turned household manager, chef, housekeeper etc.

PP here. I don't disagree with what you've said. I also think it shows how he, with a very inflated ego, probably treated her pver the years...as a much younger, very pretty arm candy girl who was expected to run the household and attend kids' activities while he pursued his career and made money. He offered her a pathetic, cheapskate prenup and hired a cut throat attorney to enforce it. What a dick.

When Joan Rivers called him out on the small size of his first engagement ring to Christine, she looked at it and asked if it were a joke. Joan nailed it!! But Christine was young and in love...

Don’t they all have egos? Isn’t that why she married him? Because he was rich & famous? They both had agendas and in between that there was love. But love sometimes wanes and the agendas stay…

PP here. I agree that most have big egos, but some more than others. I'm sure he doesn't give a rat's a-- what people like me think about him, but I've lost all respect for him.

I’m hoping she writes a book about him and gets lots of money from it.

Unfortunately she would have signed an NDA with the prenup.

What are the terms of the settlement?

From TMZ, which has an in with his lawyer:

Although the prenup is enforceable, our sources say Christine got more than what was prescribed in the doc ... for the sake of settlement.

Very vague. I want to know exactly how much she’s getting and if it’s way over the prenup.

I'd bet he did not want her to work. I am also married to someone that does not want me to work. He wanted her to be available.
